I am not sure what the chances of me getting pregnant after a tubal liagation are. I had my daughter on November 7,2006 which was only 4 months ago. Well I had my period normally December and January well Febuary has come and gone and now around the time I had gotten it the first two months has come and gone it was around the 10th so now 2 months have passed. I had some sharp hunger pains tonight which I only really remember having when I was pregnant with both of my kids I just don't know if I'm overreacting or if there could be a good chance of me being preggo already. I know for a fact my tubes where only tied that's how my OBGYN does it.

I would not worry too much. Because the chances are very slim but it is still possible, and my doctor told me that if i was i would know because it could be an ectopic pregnancy, but you could have a normal preg. too. In order for conception to occur, the fallopian tubes must connect the ovaries to the uterus. In a tubal ligation, the fallopian tubes are cut (ligated) so that sperm cannot travel up the tubes to fertilize the egg and eggs cannot travel to the uterus. A tubal ligation virtually eliminates the chance of getting pregnant – in the first year after the procedure, the chance of getting pregnant is less than 1 percent. I also had my tubes tied after my son 01/06. And I had very strange periods, I had two in one month, shorter ones, and i went a month without having one. You should probably take a pregnancy test just to ease your mind though. I've been there too, i hope this helps you.

The only way I am aware of to not get pregnant before menopause has completely taken place, is to have a hysterectomy, or have the man get a vasectomy. Please get checked to make sure. Take care.
