I am 5'11 and I always hate it whenever a guy chooses someone half my height just because I am either as tall as him or just a little shorter. Do guys just ignore girls who are tall completely? I mean come on! People I meet tell me how pretty and beautiful I am but yet I can't seem to get the guys I want. But this may be just a high school phase. I guess high school guys are still trying to mature...

I have three sisters who were models. You are pretty much on the mark with what you think is going on.
I have to agree. It is mostly an insecurity thing. Most guys at that point are trying to come to grips with their own identity and just aren't sure enough about it yet.
There is also the fear of being hassled because they look funny to others if their girl is taller than them.
On the other hand, as has been well said by several here already, in a few years you will be fighting men off with a stick.
Tall girls that look good are model material and highly pursued by some men as trophies to their ego, so you will find yourself on the other end of the same problem.
Best bet is to just wait and see if someone really likes you for who you are. It's better to not date than to date for the wrong reasons. You don't need the headaches and emotional scars it produces. No one needs more baggage.
Also don't be so eager to date that you go out with older men just because that seems like your best option. A lot of older men are single for a good reason, they are emotionally disfunctional. Now a stable and healthy older man who likes you for who you are and you have compatible interests is just fine but watch out for the players and trophy hunters.
There are lot of men who want to play conquer the amazon as a way to shore up their own weak masculinity.
Anyway, just some things to consider and watch out for.

I always want to be with someone whos about my size, or a bit taller. I've dated girls your height and taller, but I must admit, not in high school.
I think at that time I assumed that girls taller than me would not take me seriously regardless of who I am (and i was right, some of the time), and who wants to get shot down? especially for some shallow reason..
it might help to let it be known that you don't discriminate against shorter guys.
it wasn't until later when i got to talking with a taller girl that she told me how frustrating it sometimes was to be tall and 'unapproachable' that i realized that there was just as much fear and frustration on the other side. made things a lot better for all parties..
communication is the key.

well for one I do not believe the high school age guys haven't met there full potential growth spurt so you may be taller than most. The only other reason i can think that they would shy away is a superiority complex. The man wants to be superior and it is hard to feel that way when your girlfriend is taller than you. I know it can be frustrating but Give it some time guys now a days are jolly green giants. 6'2 +

The guys who you know might be intimidated by your appearance. You mentioned high school...you won't have that problem with grown men (but please wait until you're out of high school to find one). I've seen plenty of men with women who are taller than they are. I've also seen couples who are both tall.
You know what's funny? I'm really short, and I've always wanted to be taller. So have my other short friends. On the other hand, my tall friends say they wish they were shorter. I guess we're always a little insecure about our appearances.

i'm in basic terms 4'10 and my husband is 6'a million ft. Hubby pronounced he grew to alter into into attracted with my character yet i think of of my precise makes him journey vast and mandatory. I wanna be with a girl taller than me but point is girls dont take it seriously . They are also as tall concious as boys. Tell me do feel feel comfortable with a shorter un.
The prob is it will be very awakward kissing a tall girl and the eye contact is also bit awakward.
Better look for a tall one than blaming the short guys.

Maybe you should look for boys taller than you, there are many I think...
And now for joke....
Boy like shorter girls because when they are talking face to face, shorter girl will aways look up to talk to them and boys will have to look down (cause they know they had done something wrong which they can tell you)

Im 6'1 and i could care less of what a girls height could be. There are far more important things about a girl than that.
So. you just havent found the right "man" yet.
I think 5'11 is beautiful.

I may not be right, but maybe it's just because guys like to feel "like a man", and if the girl is shorter, it helps them feel more that way. I mean, if I was a guy, I'd feel intimidated by a taller girl.

I am 20yr old
I always wish I was taller. Guys always loved ,me b/c I am a state champion in gymnastics.
I always saw the tall girl get the guy in HS.
Guess it changed
