u cannot make idli with wheat flour.

idli is made with urad dal+ idli rava/rice ( 1:1)
(idli rava is available in indian provision shops/supermarkets)and is steam cooked.

1.soak urad dal over night .grind it in to soft and thick batter the next morning.

2.to this batter idli rava is to be added.
if idli rava is added to the dal batter in 1:1 ratio it will make very sofy fluffy idlis.

idli rava too can be soaked in water for about 15 - 20 minutes. drain off the water and add it to the urad dal batter.

3.add salt for taste. and use the idli batter after 3 hours to get soft and fluffy idlis.

4.idli batter is to be arranged in idli container and can be cooked by using a pressure cooker or an idli maker or a rice cooker.

do not forget to line the idli trays with a drop of oil before spreading the batter on them. this will make the idlis non sticky to the idli pan.

5.let the steam come for about 10 minutes.do not use the weight if u r using a pressure cooker.

if u r in a hurry thn add a pinch of cooking soda to the batter to have soft and fluffy idlis.

6.serve the idlis with 1.chutney ( made of coconut/ginger/peanut)
2.chutney powder
3. sambar.

and idlis will be more tasty if topped with a little ghee.but if too calorie conscious then idlis can be served even without ghee.

Wheat in any sort is undesirable for canines. they do no longer seem to be designed to digest it. time-honored flour is bleached wheat flour this is even worse. As for the milk identity use skim milk or a lactose unfastened exchange. visit the shop and get rice flour and the superb suited "milk" formerly making those or do a seek for "home made grain unfastened canines treats/biscuits. Or grain unfastened canines biscuit recipe. it particularly is going to be lots extra effectual on your canines in the long-term.
