I always feel my heart sink when a boyfriend lets me down. Some time you build up expectation that they are going to do something nice for your birthday or something. I have felt my heart sink that moment I realised that they had not got me anything for my birthday, not even a card. You get that feeling, like your heart has gone heavy, its not angry just disappointed

Looking at the state we have got this planet into and fearing for the future generations. That truly is a heart sinking thought.

A lot of things. When my chid cries out of sadness or because she has hurt herself (shes 19 months old and learning to climb and she falls sometimes). As another answerer has said, building up expectations for someone or something and then being let down (the example with the boyfriend and the birthday were great examples). Building up expectations for myself and then worrying if I'm going to succeed or not. My most recent expectation is to throw a great bridal shower for my sister who's getting married next year (I'm the maid of honor). I've already got a lot of really good ideas but I'm really hoping that everything goes smoothly because my sister is one of the most important people in my life. I just want her to have a great time and I don't want to screw anything up. I got a lot of time to plan it out but I still cant help but worry about it. There are a lot of other things too (like the reports of child abuse that someone else mentioned) but too many too list. Read or watch the news and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Knowing that there are so many people who don't believe in Jesus Christ, that they just don't see that there is a God.
It makes my heart sink down and hurt, as I feel sad for them. I pray that things will change for them for the better, and they may some day see that he is there and he loves them too. Just my point of view, I'm not trying to push my faith on any one, as it's not my place to do.

When a woman tells you whatever you do don't lie or cheat on her because it hurts and is wrong to do. And then turns around and does it despite her asking you to be faithful. It hurts, but oh well, I guess.
