I asked a question about my religion (Amunism) and people started bombarding me with answers like:
1.)You worship cats? Call yourself Stupid.
2.)Adultry!
3.)Those people sacrificed children to appease their gods, and worshiped the devil in the form of Ra the Sun God, so call it Satanism or Witchcraft.
Wasn't that TERRIBLE? I don't think you should say those things to someone who is a part of that religion! It's very hurtful, and it makes me feel like crap....
Some people at school make fun of me because I accidently wrote my homework in HIEROGLYPHS! I don't need that kind of treatment online as well. Anyone agree with me, whatever religion you have?

This first answer was sort of what I was talking about. This answer clearly stated that my gods were fake, and her god was real. I don't mean any offense, I was just saying that this is a fraction of what I was talking about.

Bigotry is born of fear. On the surface they criticise and say hurtful things because they fear your religion and the stereotypes they ascribe to it. On a deeper level they fear their own faith and beliefs. They need to make themselves feel more secure, convince themselves that they are right, by belittling you.
It sounds like you are more accepting of their religions and beliefs than they of yours. Don't let that go. It's a beautiful and rare thing. Quite often it is exactly what the religion teaches as most do teach us to care for each other regardless of beliefs.
Don't let them get to you. The problem is theirs and not yours. If you think they are intelligent enough you can even point out that your understanding of their religion is that it is not based on hate and cruel words.
And pretty darn cool that you are so familiar with hieroglyphs! I certainly admire that!

Yes I do think that it is bad....especially here where everyone answering should be trying to truly assist those with questions. I'm a Hindu and while I don't get it online as much as I do face to face, I know how you feel about such statements being made about something as personal as one's religion.
And for the record I know how it feels to be teased about turning in one's homework in another language. I once wrote a paper for chemistry class in French by mistake (the French assignment was to translate something...a poem, a book, etc...and my chemistry assignment was to do a paper of a specific chemist so I decided to combine the assignments and do my paper on the chemist and then translate it into French...only I got the papers wrong and turned my chemistry paper into my French teacher and my paper in French into my chemistry teacher. While the teachers were very understanding I can't say the same for my fellow classmates). Thus when I took Spanish class in college (coincidently taught by a teacher who was from France) I made sure not to do anything that might repeat the same mistake happening again! :)
Peace be with you.

Yes, I noticed that. I wish people had better manners online. Don't let the idiots and bigots get you down too much though. They do that to every religion that isn't their own.
I tried to answer your question to the best of my ability. I wasn't quite sure what religion you were talking about, I assumed it was Kemetic though because you mentioned the ancient Egyptians.

It's because everyone is so caught up in their beliefs, they'll try to disprove anything that says otherwise.
Religion is like broken telephone. They all tell the same story, but each version has been so twisted up and misunderstood that the followers don't consider anything else.

I have managed to get used to it over time. There are real questions from real people who want real input here, but you have to look hard to find them. What you received was normal for R&S. I have seen questions like "My sister was killed last week in a car wreck. I'm having a hard time. Could you pray for me?" Answerd just as harshly with statements like. "Why do you want people to talk to an imaginary sky king about your problems." They seem to entertain themselves by doing this stuff.
Grace and peace to you.

Well, some people have no manners. Although it is quite common for one religious faith to conflict with another, they have no right to make fun of your beliefs. My advice is, don't stoop down to their level. Stay calm. Be yourself. Those people who talk big on the net are cowards who don't have the courage to say it in real life.

Some people are just arrogant. They can insult people but they can't stand being insulted.I suggest you either ignore them or give them a taste of their own medicine. But if you do decide to insult them do it in a way that has mature sarcasm.Nothing is more infuriating to them then to have their entire belief system questioned intelligently.

I think we are to respect different view points but at the same time If I know about a religion that will harm you Physically and Emotionally, I have to bring out the truth in love and tell you. Sometimes truth hurts but it will save your life and soul.

Come back to earth, here ! (i agree with "lookin 2cj) .....enlighten us. What is your religion about? You lost me at the worshiping cats thing. I am accepting of a lot of things, as long as it's not deranged.

There will always be someone who has no sense. They usually have no life either.
You can write in Heiroglyphs, wow, how does one learn that? That would be interesting to learn.
