I am a doctor of pharmacy with 2 doctorates and 31 years experience. To give you a better answer I would need to know specifically what your medical conditions are and the specific medicines you are taking. Almost every medicine is a risk/benefit situation. Medicines often don not work at just one place in the body. Let me give you an example, propranolol (Inderal=brand name) is a beta blocker that can be used to prevent migraine headaches. (Reducing the frequency and intensity). It also affects the heart rate, blood pressure, adrenal gland, thyroid gland. It may have a desirable action but may also have undesirable actions that
further complicate a patient's medical condition. Taking several medicines together can sometimes cause absorption problems where one medicine is not absorbed.
In some cases 2 medicines can cancel out each other.
Questran and Lanoxin. Questran is a bile salt
sequestant which can lower cholesterol. Lanoxin is an important medicine in treating Congestive Heart failure and
certain Atrial arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats). Getting your medicines filled at the same pharmacy is wise so the pharmacist can properly advise you. Also some medicines
are more effective if taken on an empty stomach or with food. Studies have shown that patients who take more medications and who take them several times a day are
far more likely to be less compliant than patients who take fewer pills and less often times a day. A good pharmacist
will be glad to advise you of the proper way to take each medication so that you obtain maximum benefit with minimal
side effects. You can tell a good pharmacist because
he/she will gladly spend the time to help you out. Best regards!

The reason why it is not advisable to take different types os medicines simultaneously is because the different chemical compositions from could react within the body and it may not be good. Can you see the sense in that? You have to know what your taking it cause one thing (especially in chemistry) does not mix well with another. Could cause some crious problems in the human body.

It is important not to take self prescribed meds. Seek a doctor's prescription always. He/she knows if the meds will interact with each other. Different meds will have interactions if taken at once (if you took it without prescription). However, if deemed okay by the pharmacist, it is possible to making several meds at one time.

It depends on the medicines. If your doctors has prescribed them to you, you should not have any side effects.

Find out here if there are any. Put in all the drugs you're taking and see if there are any negative interactions between them. Never blindly trust a doctor. Always check for yourself.
