As sad as it may seem, a lot of people are going to die before this war is over. Their religious faith is irrelevant, the loss of life and hardship upon those left alive is the issue.

I m sorry but they are first helping themselves and their nation and then they are helping Israel.........There all activites have nothing to do with build up muslim nation, Muslim nation is thrown back 100 years back in history first by this war and now with that politics.......Muslims there can not raise to any level even in centuries !! You know what? when you would walk around in Afghanistan, you would come across hundreds of disabled kids, same goes with Iraq ,do u realy think a nation can be build up with that much mental and physical disability? No.... never !!
yes but now they are even weaker nation, an easy target for Israel to prey !!So christain soldiers have done a great job !

If they honestly believe it is the right thing to do then yes. They should be allowed to fight and serve their nation with honor. Also realize our military has soldiers of every religion in it's ranks. They are fighting in the middle east because they know that if we don't deal with terrorists right now in their homeland they will most definately bring it back to ours.
And before you ask No, I am not a Christian I am an Atheist.

Well if Christianity is such a "pure", "holy" and all round good religion, then shouldn't Christian soldiers find it a duty to help other people? If not, then are they not performing a sin? Didn't their god say that they should help everyone despite the fact that they are not religious?
then again this is only my opinion. no hard feelings if any.

I think that any solider that goes into the Army knows what they signed up for and it wasn't to die but to defend their patronage. I believe that we are in the end times and if there are Christian soldiers in the Army or what have you they are there for a purpose. God wouldn't let any harm come there way unless it is their time to be with him.

I have no idea as to what in the world is going on over there,
its a complete mess.
I believe we need to help those who are innocent in the world and imprison the violent criminals no matter what their religion may be.
War is always started because of religion and it will always be that way. Until we learn to accept each others existance and individualism, we are doomed.

Soldiers who happen to be Christian, who are fighting for America don't have much choice in the matter, as they are volunteers, and as volunteers promise to fight and if necessary die for the values of all Americans, not just the ones they agree with. And isn't it "Christian" to help ALL people in need?

No poor fool ever won a war by dying for his country - General S Patton.
i think if countries are able to help each other, regardless of their religion, and even if that help involves the taking up of arms, we are duty bound to help and protect.
religion doesnt matter.
when we die, we all go back into the ground.

What about that whole love thy neighbour thing?
I am not Christian. I am agnostic. I do believe that faith and beliefs are wonderful things. I strive to understand and respect the faiths of others. I would never dream of trying to convince anyone that their faith is wrong and that I am right. In fact, that would go directly against what I believe.
What I understand to be Christian is inherently good. The basis of the teachings are those of love, understanding, and knowledge.
My cousin is a Baptist missionary. He spends a great deal of time in China in the hopes of not only converting people to his faith but also in helping them in general.
It would seem to me that it would be more important, and, quite frankly, more Christian (in the sense of Christ-like), to attempt to help people. When you help them to survive and live healthy lives then you can gain their trust. They would, I should think, be more open to learning about Christianity and converting to that faith.
Wouldn't this be more of God's plan than destruction and killing? Is it not his to judge and yours to forgive and to help?

I don't think religion inters into it. A soldier whether he is Christian or not goes where his country sends him. Otherwise he shouldn't be a soldier.
