I guess it would depend on if it was just child rebailing or if they NEVER wished to talk to me again. It wouldn't bother me if they were just rebailing but if my son NEVER talk to me again yes it would bother me and even hurt me to the very center of my soul. Though I think at some point every child does in his or her own way turn against the parents as a way of growing up yet most of the time they do find their way back home I know I did.

Not a bit. If fact, I would consider it a sign of independence and freedom. Of course, my eight year old twin sons still sleep with me, home school, and have never been left with a babysitter. They are quite attached and,..... maybe I could use some space? Anyway, children are people, their allegience has to be earned just like with people outside of the family. Too many parents treat their children with rudeness and disrespect and feel they have earned the right. That's why the children turn, because the parents act like enemies.

They all do at some point, its part of growing up. Normal rebellion starts at about 2 and keeps happening, so most parents are really good at it when it happens in the teen years. What do you mean by turns against us? Followed a different religion, no problem. Voted differently in elections, no problem. Decided to live a different lifestyle, no problem. Never wanted to talk to us again, big problem.

Well, hard to say both my parents are total opposites, divorced when I was in about 8th/9th grade
One was quiet(MOM) the other talked and put words into heads(FATHER) All through High School hated my mom-thought she was a bad person, turned against her. Junior/Senior year, got the facts right and against my father.
I rarely talk to him, because well he hasn't done any good for me. He thinks of himself as Poor Dad, his kids don't like him, he needs to stop and think WHY. Me and my older sister are scarred because of that man.

I'd be hurt but as a parent you have to rise above it & carry on. Children usually only turn on you to try & manipulate you to change your mind about something anyway - so in that circumstance i probably wouldn't get to upset.

What kind of parents do you talk to? If your child turned on you, you will care. It will eat you up! Now what they probably mean is, they couldn't do anything about it because it's their child's decision, but they will care. If my child turned on me i would be heartbroken. I turned on my mother and it drove her so crazy unitl I befriended her again.

I think it should bother MODERN parents but I know it won't.
Parents these days are slack lazy self indulgent fat arses. They can't be arsed to control their kids because they're too stressed (cough).
Also, consider the environmental damage, not to mention the social damage, of churning out annoying little squits that moan when when you kick the arses for being too loud.
The best parent is a parent without kids.
Hope that helps.
