I don't think you can stuff an ice cube in someones ear, but cold water seems to trigger the gag reflex in some people. When using a ear cleaning kit make sure the solution is at least room temp, too cold and you might have a mess to clean up. So yes it's true, cold liquid in the ear canals can trigger the gag reflex and you might vomit.
