I was told in the past that it might mean I have an ulcer.. I just know that recently its been happening. I HAVE been under a ton of stress and have been rather depressed about some things. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be?

This probly isnt the case for you but I started getting the hiccups a lot when I was pregnant. I would get them 2-3 times a day and I dont know why. After I gave birth, I returned to normal. I only hiccup once in a while now. I guess it was the hormones or something. What always works for me (to get rid of them) is eating just a tiny bit of sugar and washing it down with a little water.

Air in the stomach causes me to hiccup every time I eat or drink (even water). I am thrilled to finally come across another person that goes through such trauma. Personally, I say "I'm full" and quit whatever it is that I'm doing at the moment. It's a wonderful excuse to not eat so much in front of others, too. LOL I understand the annoying feeling!!!! And I sympathize with you. Keep in touch PLZ! These are initials of ppl/pets here, not a body part (buns977@yahoo)

Your stress is causing an allergic reaction to some food and is causing this problem. Eat simple bland foods that are easy to swallow.

You're eating too fast, and too much at once.
