I'm a certified elementary teacher, and I've never made a lot of money. So, for me, I've not been able to own much. I have all my basic needs met and my wife and I live okay. However, my wife and I are both professionals and all our friends are educated professionals as well. And I have to admit, I get jealous that all our friends own more than one house. Some of our friends own three and four houses. Whereas my wife and I had to sell our house in order to repair our credit. It sucks, BUT, I have a unique point-of-view. I am able to see how caught up they are in their wealth. All our friends are great people, so please don't get me wrong. However, I can see their blind spots. Eventhough they would deny it like hell, they are ALL , Happy Shiny People. Not one of them wants to talk about anything too close to home. They typically like to stay up-beat and happy. They all admit that Pres. George Bush is a fool, but they do not want to think about things going sour in America. Not one of my friends could handle loosing all their wealth and having to just-make-ends-meet. It would mentally destroy them if they lost all their personal equity. Therefore, they do not like to even think it could happen. "Let's just play nice and all get along!"...."and oh yeah, I bought another house!!!"
The greatest threat in North America, is greed!
Greed keeps us blind!

One could say that either ILLEGAL immigration, terrorism, secularism, deteriorating educational standards, immorality, or several other concerns is the greatest threat in north America today and back it up with facts to support that contention. I say that the greatest threat is the slow and steady movement away from God which is fueled by the demise of high and reasonable standards morally and educationally.

I agree with Slicktop. Apathy is a slow, excruciatingly painful slow death for our country. Our political corruption and lack of morals among our leaders will continue until we either revolt and kick them out of office, or the country as a whole caves in.

Apathy by the American people in how we are governed, and who we permit to do the governing to start.
(All readers please take that to include both of the primary political parties. If justice was done, both houses of Congress would be nearly empty and the prisons would be fuller, and maybe the White House too.)
