some idiot of a senator thought we would do better shifting the sunlight hours. Lot easier to start school later and stay open longer. Just cycle what gets done at the best hour. We almost live in a 24-hr a day wake cycle due to international business anyway. No matter what changes are made - build on the land - tear down buildings back to pristine land - some one will *****. The best we can do - is have population negative growth and reduce the world need. Heck someone wants X amount of sunlight just travel the globe to have 24-hr sunlight or darkness or somewhere in between.

Daylight savings is supposed to mean just that...saving the amount of daylight and saving the use of energy.

When we awake next week, it will seem a lot brighter both inside and outside, and then spring comes around again.

Some claim it's the best time of the year.

I just hate when summer shows up too early, like late March or early April...a good spring is what we all hope for...so we can greet people with kindness and exclaim what a beautiful day it is.

Not only is it starting earlier, it is also not ending until the 1st Sunday in November. The benefits is that it is supposed to save electricity, that was what it was originally started for. Do not know what the harm except the computers will be screwed up.

Supposedly, the change will save energy. However, nobody seems to like it (I certainly don't). I think the notion that it will save money is based on research that is way out of date; it's also necessitating adding a bit of code to most computers, as they automatically change on the old date in April, so if you deal with a lot of computers, then you have to update all of them. It's also going to make a real mess of anything that has to use a schedule like airplane, train, and similar transportation. All in all, I see a lot of hassle for very little benefit.
