I would contact the local police agency that handles the area where you live. See if they have a website with information. Depending on your age you can go into the personnel department and get all the information you need. It is like applying for a job but much more intense. You have to go through an academy and an extensive hiring process. Generally agencies require certain level of schooling, a polygraph, extensive back-round, psych exam, physical agility, etc. Most agencies here in Florida really look down on smokers. If I were dedicated to this profession I would make an effort to quit. It will also be healthier for you. It is a great and rewarding profession and if you are dedicated and interested enough you will find a way to learn more about it. GOOD LUCK

I live in the U.s and here, they are always looking for more officers. The easiest thing would be to go to your local police department, and ask what the requirements are and when the next testing date will be. I can tell you a few of the requirements in the U.s(california):

-At least 18 years old
-No past felony convictions
-No past of drug use
-No serious illnesses
-A Driver's license.

Also, a MAJOR requirement is that you can read, write, and speak English properly and strong grammar skills. Looking at the way you wrote your question, you need a LOT of help with that. Practice your English because you'll be writting reports as a police officer, and they cannot afford any mistakes caused by grammar. For the most part, smoking cigarettes should not disqualify you, but it most definately won't help.

The local police you are seeking employment from have a recruiting department. Look on their website or call their non-emergency line to ask. I'm a cop and I smoke, didn't stop me. You just have to work harder on the runs while your in training. Good luck.

being a police means having a tough body and everything. i dont live in america so i dont any place where you can go and start that.. and those cigarettes they might affect your health cause it might block your heart and wil cause a hard time for breathing... and exercising too much especially too much is a great deal with that..

all in all - exercise and good health.. good luck with being a police

You may want to start taking criminal justice classes, in the US, it is a requirement. Check w/ your local police dept.
