when it didn't work out...and now you want to wear it?

That's not wrong at all. In fact, it's very creative and practical. The only time I would advise against it would be if the bride to be had bad feelings associated with the dress, and clearly you don't, or you wouldn't have considered doing it. Good luck.

Undoubtedly you liked this dress in the first place or you would've never bought it, I don't see anything wrong with it myself. I think it's very practical in an economical sense, why go out and pay big money for another dress when you have a perfectly good one that's never been used? It makes no sense whatsoever, unless you want to sell this dress to fund the new one. The decision is yours to make, whatever you feel comfortable in doing but I'd wear the durn thing, no one is never going to know unless you tell them!
Good luck and have a beautiful wedding!!

If this is the dress you wanted to be married in, then you should get married in it. I don't think it is wrong. A wedding dress is usually something the bride picks out independent of the groom. It is special to her. It will become special to the both of you on your wedding day, but it isn't like a symbol of your love like say your engagement ring or wedding bands. I don't think there is anything harmful in wearing the dress you like.

Some people would cringe....it can be seen as bad luck and almost tacky.

That said, if it's in good shape, still fits, and you have no problems wearing it, there's no reason not to. It is practical.

I personally would not wear the same dress again, but that's just me. I would not tell your new husband to be if I were you. He may picture you and your past husband on your wedding night...in that same dress. Not good for the romance!

Good luck!

It's a little tacky, how would this groom feel if he knew that it was bought for another man to see you walk down to him in it. If I were you and can't afford another dress I would go to a second hand store and buy a dress or check with a relative to borrow a dress and donate the other dress. GOOD LUCK

No, I have a best friend that did that. Don't waste that wedding dress just because the first engagement didn't work out.

Wear the dress and be happy you decided to marry Mr. Right and not Mr. Wrong. Best of luck to you.

Yes, new wedding, new dress. However, for a second wedding, you would not wear a traditional wedding dress.

If I already had a dress and I liked it, I would wear it. Sure wouldn't waste money on another one. Use that extra money to have some fun. I think you are very wise.

i don't guess it's wrong if you feel ok with it. personally i have one from a previous marriage that was an extremely bad marriage and i wouldn't dare do it because i feel like it would put a hex on my next marriage. but i'm weird like that i plan on having the rings from my previous marriage blessed and cleansed by a priest before giving them to my son. so i may not be the best one to ask that question. not to mention that dress was for a 'special' day with another man and i'd feel funny about wearing it again on a speacial day for someone else i don't know if the man would like the idea either. i would say ask your fiance how he feels about it and if he's ok with it and you are ok with it go for it. it sure would save a lot of money. your other option would be to sell it and use that money to go towards a new dress. regardless of what you choose best of luck and congratulations!
