In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Satan does not have the power to kill. He only has the power to influence others to kill. Count up all the wars, murders, drunk driving deaths etc. and you will have Satan's total.
God has also caused the death of many. Whole cities like Sodom and Gomorah (spelling), the flood during Noah's time, the first born of the people who persecuted his people etc.
The difference is that Satan causes killing because he wants to defeat God and destroy mankind. God has killed as a judgement for sin. God has NEVER killed a righteous person. Satan on the other hand doesn't care who dies...He wants all of us.

Since God is all powerful He will be taking full authority to do what is just. God has delivered people to Satan for the destruction of their flesh because of their disobedience. So God allows it even if Satan is actually the one causing it. What is your point?!!? That God is evil and cruel? If so you are so ignorant about the character of God. He has the right to do what He pleases, regardless of mankinds little peonic brain that just doesn't "get it"

Who brought death into the universe? Satan did, by his rebellion against a G-d who gave him everything. Adam and Eve did, when they listened to Satan and chose to reject G-d's plan for them (again, He had given them everything, even the very choice to accept or reject Him). Their fall meant that all of their descendants would be sinful at birth. There would have been no murder or genocide if Adam and Eve hadn't chosen that way.
The wars recorded in the Bible, in which Israel wipes out other people or when the L-rd sends plagues on Israel or on other nations, are justified by this one thing: the L-rd is utterly, completely holy. Humanity's sin nature is completely offensive to Him. We offend His holiness just by breathing. He would be completely justified in wiping us out completely. But He does not, because He is merciful as well as holy.
He doesn't take pleasure in killing either, nor is it His habit to suddenly send judgment. The Old Testament cycle of judgment is always tempered by His pleas for people to return to Him before it is too late. (For example, Jeremiah prophesied about the Babylonian captivity for forty years before it happened, and no one listened to him.)
Satan desires to kill and destroy. G-d desires to bring life.

Satan can't kill anybody except with God's permission.
