Do people feel it's right or wrong for an 18 year old girl to become involved with a 40 year old man, over twice her age? Please give only a yes or no answer, not an 'in between', and the reason for your choice? Thanks.

He probably has experience telling girls like you what they want to heare to get them in bed.
If you sleep with him the chances of your feelings growing stronger will shoot out the roof!! And if he does turn out to be a creep he will be the ULTIMATE pupett master. I have seen that so many times, and its SAD.
You NEED to know how he is... guys will say anything when they are turned on!!!! trust me! If you have ever heard a woman complain that a guy never calls her after a booty call its because he got his sexual needs taken care of, and his mind goes back to normal. In a normal state he realizes that he made a mistake and does not call the girl back.
Take your time before taking that step with any man. Men respect that and if he doesnt it means that he is just horny.

No way. I say this because he is just too old. You will definitely be seen as a gold digger to others. Not only that, but there is not enough in common between any 18 year old and a 40 year old. He has way too many years over you. He's a little mature for you. You should go for someone that has the same goals and views that a peron whos 18 should have.

It's not as simple as yes and no. If he's not married then yes but beware due to your age i can't possibly see what a 40 year old would have in common with an 18 year old outside of sex. I'd be willing to say that the only reason why someone 40 would be with an 18 year old would be strickly for sex.

That is legal, but unnacceptable to most people anyway. You just became an adult and he has been an adult for a long time. Young people are easier to trick and they can easily fall into traps of 40 year old men. The point is he is more mature and has much more life experience but go ahead do what you want. This is just why a 40 year old and an 18 year old doing that is unacceptable.

personally, no. first of all, what a 40 year old man is looking for in a relationship probably varies completely from the wishes of an 18 year old girl. also, chances are your being used because any 40 year old guy would sleep with an 18 year old if he had the chance. and its just way to much of an age difference..the level of maturity is way off too

This is my reasoning. An 18 year old girl (your words) is just that, a girl. She is on the edge of becoming a woman, and because of that has a lot of life to live and enjoy. You only go around once and you should get the opportunity to embrace and enjoy it all. Why be saddled down with someone who has already been there and done that and started doing just that before you were even born?
And for the man, as flattering as it is to be desired by a woman that much younger than him, it is a relationship that is hardly based on equality.

It is ok and I would in fact recommend it because you are already probably a mature woman and are probably on the level of the 40 year old man. You will have a man that can provide for you and allows you to be yourself and help mold you into that total freak in the bedroom and a lady in public and the 40 year old will also listen to you. I am 40 years old and am a man and have had sucess before at this and would love to have this opportunity again to treat a 18 year old like a princess. go for it girl

In my eyes it's perfectly fine, a bit disturbing and mildly disgusting, but perfectly fine. The girl is over the legal age, can make her own decisions, and has to answer to no one but herself for the decisions that she makes..besides it's OK, and even approved of, for an 18 year old male to have sex with a 40 year old woman, why not the opposite

um yes. because he is old enough to be your dad for one. two he is obviously interested just in sex (no matter what he tells you) if you had a baby with him he would be 60 when the kid is 20 and you would undoubtedly outlive the man by quite a bit which means losing out on any financial help to raise the child. (not saying you're trying to get pregnant but every time you sleep with someone that's a chance you take no matter how careful you are) i can't imagine dating a man that's old enough to be my dad. hell i can't even see myself dating someone more than 5 years older! (or sleeping with) also not to mention there is a very large maturity level difference there. you wouldn't really have anything to talk about because your 18 yr old problems which i'm sure seem major to you are really lame compared to older people's issues and vice versa. not to mention i personally get grossed out at the thought of that much of an age difference. but hey to each his own. just be warned i seriously doubt he is really interested in getting involved i really think he's just interested in getting in your pants and scoring for his own ego trip. what ever you choose good luck

No. That is too much of an age difference. An 18 year old is not emotionally capable of dealing with a relationship with someone that much older.
