For those who feel global warming is part of a natural "phase" or "cycle" of some kind, I'm curious:

Do you dispute the PRESENCE of huge amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere (compared to a few centuries ago) or do you dispute the IMPORTANCE of all this extra CO2 ?

not natural at all! today I read a time magazine article on it and it made me depressed. A lot of port cities will be underwater due to the glacier melts, more natural disasters have been occuring than ever before, there have been significant shifts in weather patterns, more and more species are dying out, the earth is basically an ailing planet. So is CO2 really not all that important?
p.s. You cannot rely on inaccurate articles from the 1970's in order to form an opinion on global warming. Since then, we have come a long way. We've discovered more and caused more damage than we ever though possible.

The planet is constantly evolving and therefore, so are climate conditions. Levels of CO2 in the air, when assessed from the dynamics of the planet, are unmanageable and quite ordinary. A volcanic eruption can spew more particles of CO2 into the air than mankind could possibly emit in a thousand years. Over the centuries, we've had a multitude of volcanic eruptions. Additionally, there are more scientists who disclaim the "global warming theory" than promote it. There is a hidden agenda here and it's important that people question these claims and stop taking other people's word for what's happening.

It is recognized by virtually everyone that the earth has cycles. There is virtually nothing constant. I would speculate that virtually every statistic one can conceive had an extreme either higher or lower than the present at some time in the past. And many of those extremes occured when man could not have been a factor.Major cycles are measured in tens of thousands, and millions of years. While it is possible that the activities of man is the cause of the current uptrend in temperature it is unlikely that he is really the cause.
I"m certain when the next cooling trend occurs man will concoct a story as to how we have created that.

The amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere have risen and fallen in cycles lasting thousands of years. In the 70's I remember reading in National Geographic about how we were in a mini-ice age and scientists were working on the problem.

The head of Atmospheric Studies at MIT has stated numerous times that CO2 levels vary over thousands of years and stated that human additions to the problem were less then 5%. In addition, the UN stated that the presence of excess amounts of greenhouse gases are due to the large amounts of meat animals including cows, goats, sheep, etc. So if you want to be really correct tell AL GORE to turn vegan!...and not spend 20 times the national avg on his electric bill for his heated pool and 20 bedroom mansion.

Not natural at all we cutting down all the rain forests and pumping emmissions out of our gas guzzling autos, planes, lawnmowers and heck about anything that burns oil in atmosphere in 20yrs at rate were going Global Warming will be no joke when oceans have risen 20ft worldwide and it causes the next ice age in Europe

You are right about the fact, Earth as people ages too. As people, Earth has its natural aging process. The lifestyle lived in a Modern Society has accelerated this aging process greatly, not even given us enough time to adapt ourselves to this changes, like we have done in the past, as shown on ours evolution's history process .
What you need to understand about CO2 is it the biggest responsable for the destruction of the Ozone Layer. Even thou the amount of its emtions in the air is still low, the demages caused on the Ozone's layer are great.
