So, if Armageddon or the rapture or whatever you want to call it is only going to happen on earth, and if it is going to happen in hundreds or even thousands of years in the future....

Won't there be a lot of astronauts and colonists on like, mars and stuff? And in deep space?

DO they just get away with it?

Athiests you really leave yourselves down on the lack of awareness of irony.

Also, sorry, I must have missed that part of revelations where astronauts were expressly catered for?! Astronauts? 2000 years ago? 2000 years ago they predicted astronauts?

Lol, that is very funny. Personally I don't believe that there will be a rapture so there is nothing to "get away" from, but I can't wait to see what people (religious or not) say about this.

I believe many religious people will sidestep the question while non-believers will just make jokes.

First of all, the Rapture and Armageddon are two separate events. Secondly, I really don't think it will be hundreds or thousands of years from now. It could be, but I doubt it. If you knew anything about the Bible and Bible Prophecy, you would see that it is pretty clear we are approaching the end days now and we, this generation of human life, are more than likely the generation that will not pass before the coming of Christ. Thirdly, no, you can't ditch or hide from God! God created the Universe, not just earth. So being in space won't help you.

Read the Bible !

Personally, it's alot sooner than that. You don't want to miss the rapture. If there were a christian astronaut on Mars couldn't the one who made Mars reach him there. Yes. Living for Jesus now is easier than dying for taking a stand for Him after the rapture.
Wouldn't it be a terrible discovery to find that after the rapture, hope for the gentiles has ended and only Gods chosen people the Jews can even be saved then. Don't count it out, there is scriptural evidence that this might very well be the case. We currently are in the dispensation of grace through Jesus Christ but after He tells His children to "come up hither" the dispensation of grace, as we know it, ends.

You're assuming that G-d only has the power to affect humans who are *physically* on the planet. But physical location doesn't matter to a sovereign deity.

However, your question also assumes that the Rapture will come without warning like in the Left Behind series. I've studied the End Times a little and my research tells me that there will actually be plenty of warning before the Rapture (the Great Tribulation, to be exact). No one will be caught unaware.

No. God is the God of all...even Mars and the moon etc. No one will be able to hide their face from Him when the time comes. The rapture will bring the faithful to Him...It is the tribulation and the judgement that will come that no one will be able to avoid.

Many Christians today believe that we are approaching the end times right now because of the state of the world. Some Christian leaders are saying that it is time we all prepare. The Bible however says that we shall not know the exact time but we will know the season. Could they be right about this being the season? Yes, but they could also be wrong. The Bible says to "always be ready" because it will come like a thief in the night...without warning.

Most of what you will read are pre-millennial views: the view that Christ's return will usher in a future millennium of Messianic rule mentioned in the book of Revelation before the final judgment. The believers of this doctrine also hold to the notion of a Rapture of the righteous beforehand.

Others hold that there will be only one second coming of Christ, at the time of the Final Judgment.

Then there are mixtures involving the views of the seven year tribulation and whether it is happening now, will happen later, etc.

These doctrines all fall under the general heading known as the study of end times, or eschatology.

Personally, I am an orthodox preterist.

For explanations of the various eschatological beliefs see: http://www.religioustolerance.org/millenni.htm

Some sects, such as the folks over at http://worldwide.familyradio.org believe the final judgment will be upon us sometime in mid-2011!

No matter what, all are held accountable. No matter their position, their power, their location--all are held accountable at the Rapture. The only thing that will save you from the Rapture is trusting in God.

And for all of you naysayers who say that it won't come: we'll just wait and see how the world will be after all of the enlightened ones are gone, and the Tribulation begins.

I believe the rapture will happen before we are on Mars. I never thought of the one world leader having control of people in space, but IF he did, then the believers in space would be raptured too.
