no, it's not an insult at all - it's wonderful to see a soldier recognize the power of a belief structure and embrace it...
it sure beats the whole violence as the solution and might makes right attitude that prevails in the american military.

Muslim American soldiers went there, and some Christians went with a goal of converting a few Muslims (several were sent back from Saudi in my old unit, so don't tell me it does not happen).. To try to paint this as either a "win" or "loss" for a country or "side" is a propaganda tactic, no doubt being used by several folks with different ideas of how to use it.. Religious views should not be an issue in any government job, unless they cause the one with them to break the law and cause injury to themselves, others, or their organization as a whole..

It is to neither. Our American soldiers can believe in which ever religion they wish to. However, it is an insult to president Bush, since he called our War in Iraq a crusade. (totaly wrong word choice).
Personaly, I thank the Lord Jesus Christ everyday that I live in such a free country as the united states.
GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL HER PEOPLE!!!!!

I don't understand. I think it's great that they are embracing something they care about. It's not a crime to embrace another religion. now the killings and stuff is insult by the soldiers but there are evil soldiers too.

Its neither. It is the right of passage of a young man.

How I feel about it is pretty irrelevant, but I am happy that he was able to find a higher power and belief system.
