I used to work retail and think of off-the-wall questions. One of the questions pertained to yogurt flavors. They make all sorts of flavors of yogurt from chocolate to blueberry and cheesecake, etc. but no apple nor grape. Anyone have any ideas on why that is? Thanks!

Two possible reasons:

1) They did a market survey and it shows that potential consumers do not like the combination of apple/grapes and yogurt

2) Food scientists tried making it but it tastes gross. So, they wouldn't market it.

Now that you mentioned this interesting insight, I actually have tried grapes and yogurt. NOT a good idea. Even wines won't go well with it.

I don't think your questions are "off'-the-wall" at all. Regarding the grape yogurt. In the late 1960s Darigold (Western USA) brand came out with a Concord Grape yogurt. This flavor was the first yogurt I had ever tasted and I really liked it. Currently (2015) Chobani Greek Yogurt has run a "Limited Batch" of Concord Grape yogurt. I just found out about and will attempt to track it down. Regarding the apple yogurt, that sounds like another winner. I know I would rather buy these flavors (with real fruit pieces, not flavored syrup) before all the junk they try to come up with like Chocolate, Orange Creamcycle, etc. Real fruit & live active yogurt cultures.

Those two flavors are not as strong or pronounced as blueberries/strawberries/peach. People probably couldnt tell the difference between apple or grape and the vanilla yogurt.
