he is just a baby, you cant expect hi to jump up and know what to do. He just got off milk and on to solides. You have to let him grow morePLUS dont take him on alk swith out shot. Your puppy is at risk for parvo. taking him places at that age with no shots is dangerous. You do not want o see your lil one suffer from that.

Get puppy shots. Wait for outtings until he is bigger and after 2nd shots since they will have kicked in on better protecting your puppy from any dangerous viruses or more.

Parvo is a major concern for any dog under a year with out shots. when they get it it will take under a week for them to get sick(a day or two to start showing)its always fatal if not treated. they will start to throw up, eat less or stop. and all down hill after that.

Parvo is in the dirt andwill take years to die off. If your gets it you will have to make sure other puppies brought in your yard have shots.

Take small and I mean small bits of cooked chicken as a treat and hold it front of your pet ( this is inside the house), let the leash drag and call your puppy to you. The chicken is the lure, when your puppy comes to you, even if it is just a little ways, give the piece chicken, do it again and again. when the puppy does not mind the leash dragging, then gently pick up the leash, do not pull on it, just hold it and standing in front of your puppy, again offer the chicken while taking steps backwards, if puppy follows give chicken, and so on. then go find a good trainer and learn from there, it this is your first pet, find a book and do some research. AND remember, she is 8 wks of age and still a baby and so hitting, dragging and generally abusing her is not right, and she shouldn't be outside anyway without all of her shots, that is if you don't want her to get Parvo, or Lepto. PLEASE LEARN before doing

The key to training a puppy is patience. Eight weeks is a little early for leash training, you might want to wait two or three weeks for that. When you do, hook him up to the leash and take him outside and just sit there sith him. He'll fight it for awhile but eventually he'll learn to like it. You need a crate to house train him. They sell them at all the pet stores and Wal Mart if you don't have one. Leave him in the crate at night. You have to resist the urge to let him sleep with you. He'll cry alot but he will stop, sooner or later. In the morning take him outside immediately. Again patience is the key. Wait for him to do his thing and them tell him what a good boy he is. After he eats, watch him for the first half hour or so. He'll start sniffing around for a place to go the bathroom and you have to be there ready to take him outside. When he pees in the house you have to rub his nose in it a little and give him a little swat on the but, tell him what a bad boy he is and take him outside for a few minutes. You are not going to hurt him by doing this. Believe me these things work, we've house broken many puppies this way. Also if you don't already have one, get a book about raising Bichon's. They have them at all the big pet stores. Good Luck...and remember patience, patience, patience

This is gonna sound really stupid but i think some dogs are temperamental and want privacy the do their business. I usually reward the dog for going outside and kennel or confine then to a small tiled room while I'm out or sleeping, until they are house trained, and I know from experience that can sometimes take a long time. As far as the walking part I've never had that problem they have usually tried to walk me, and from the sound of that I think that's easier to fix.

Be positive.
If he walks 2 feet on the leash right, give him a small treat.
2 more feet another treat.
Never pull or tell him he is going it wrong.
8 weeks is young for leash training a small dog but that's a good place to start.

Praise him when he goes potty in the right place,
never be negative when hes wrong, he wont understand it.

Look in to puppy school, I took my Yorkie at 10 weeks to a class at Pet Smart it helped a LOT. Now hes an angel.

At 8 weeks, that's fantastically no longer likely that he will pass far from you so the leash isn't mandatory for now till you reside interior the city or a heavy-site visitors section. you need to get him conscious of it nevertheless. positioned it on him interior the abode, hook it by way of your belt loop and pass approximately your enterprise for a speedy time each and daily - he needs to be with you & detect so it is going to likely be exciting for him and additionally you would be training him on the comparable time. Bichons are extremely clever & willful - the laying down element is his way of telling you that he needs it his way. you need to be the boss, gently %. him up and place him on the floor the place you decide on him to do his enterprise - tell him to pass, stay with him, puppy him & inspire him. compliment him lavishly while he is going & even provide him slightly piece of take care of. Play with him a for slightly if he is going or purely take him lower back interior if he would not - initiate over in 15 or 20 minutes. In 2-3 days, he would be taught that that's a competent element & even exciting. wait and spot, use a brilliant number of compliment while he does what you decide on and don't yell at him if he has an coincidence interior the abode. His kidney's are the dimensions of a thimble so he can no longer help it & there'll be injuries. Get a competent e book on training and discover out approximately instructions on your section. Petsmart has pup kindergarten for @$a hundred yet examine different sources for running shoes besides.

Don't use treats he will come to expect them and play mind games with you when you don't have them. He's 8 weeks he needs alot of praise, by praise I mean verbal and physical ie: telling him he's a good boy and petting him when he has successful walked a little. When out walking even if you don't get out of your driveway always end the walk sucessfully meaning he walks back into the house. I know he is little and adorable but if you carry him when he refuses to walk you are conditioning that behavior. Let him wear a leash around the house so he gets used to it watch him though, so he doesn't chew it. Be consistant and stay positive, good luck
