The only way to get rid of a constant cough like that is with codeine. Your doctor would have to prescribe it for you. Call the office in the morning. If you have any pain pills around the house that contain codeine, you can take one of those tonight until you can contact your doc tomorrow.
In the meantime, be sure you are keeping your throat moist. Sip on fluids as much as possible. Sleep with your head up on a couple pillows. Use a cool mist humidifier or put some pots of water next to the heat vents in your room to moisturize the air.
You can try taking Delsym, which will often help a mild cough, but there's a good possibility it won't help a bad, nagging cough like yours.

If you smoke stop. If it is from a regular cold, take mucinex or something that will get the phlegm up. If it is stuck in there good, you might need breathing treatments such as Albutoral to break it up. At any rate you should go to the doctors and get this checked out, maybe get a TB test to for good measure.

My son recently had such a bad cough he would vomit with each coughing fit. The doctor suggested Delsym, she said it was the strongest over the counter cough suppressant. It worked.

Try hot tea and honey or a shot of whiskey if your legal. Then, if that does not work try a 8 hour cough medicine. It works for me I am not a doctor though. If it keeps up I would go to your doctor.

Sounds like your sinuses are draining down your throat causing you to cough. Try a cool mist humidifier and a decongestant before going to bed. Good luck!
