oh man cool, I'd go with like 5 - 1000 watt amps, and 10 -12"JBL speakers along with a couple of Voice of the Theater speaker columns.. that should really rock.

you won't be able to sit anywhere but damn, what a system...

no offense man but people need to stop asking this type of question
its all a matter of personal taste i dont know what kind of music you listen to if you like a lot of bass or not. plan on entering competion? go to some autosound shows, see whats out there make your own choice. it will open your eyes so many different ways to make your sound system sound good
i attended a show in pomona ca. the best one i heard had 4 speakers and 4 amps in it. but thats my opinion
start basic replace your stock speakers, add some power to them dont run them through your stock head unit. get a decent amp a sub or 2 and if you want more then add some more
asking how many amps and speakers is like asking what kind of haircut you should get

it doesnt work like that. You design your system around the spl (sound pressure level). I mean in a well designed box, a single 12" with 500watts of power can be much louder then a poorly designed box with 4 12" and 500w apeice.
I once saw a single 10" with 600watts blow out all 5 windows of a vw golf at the same time.... that is what a well designed system can do.
This is a great site that will explain in detail how to build the most effecient system for your car.

That all depends on how fast you want to burn the computer in the vehicle out with poor and wrong installation. If you don't think you will not burn up the vehicle computer by hooking up the stereo, speakers and power boosters wrong than you better think again..
