Your claim was that military members are not given proper medical treatment. You are either a lyer or a left wing loony trying to stir up hate (same thing)
First, she was x-rayed within 1hr of being admitted to the hospital. Second, No active service member is required to pay out of pocket expenses. Third If she is on full duty by now , she wasn't hurt that bad. Forth, Stateside sailors (unless on shore patrol) are NOT issued body armor. Fifth, has had the same boots for six years??? She is given a yearly uniform allowance, it's HER responsibility to replace them.... Are you REALLy a Navy mom, or just some frustrated military hating ?????

I am trying to find the question you are referring to............

The ONLY time you get charged for medical is like my daughter after a five day stay in the local military hospital is because my husband has just retired......but its pennies to be honest.

And yep you are right about the clothing allowance...........dont you find that these days cos half the kids have been hand led thru life in general they still expect that sort of treatment when they get in..................

Wife of Navy, Mom of Air Force...Ex HMS Navy my self.

First, I was there when she was shot and no they did not xray. Yes the wound was open and bleeding, the bullett bounced off her back rib near her spine. the wound was aprox. 2in long and they only put 3 stiches in to keep in closed. they listened to her lungs to see if impact caused bleeding there, waited about 3 hours and sent her home. After returning stateside she was still having very sharp pains in her back when she breathed in. The doctor there felt her rib and told her it felt broken. Still no xray. and even with that she is still on full duty.
Secondly, she is an MA on shore patrol.
Thirdly, If you went back and read my original post, i corrected myself on the boot issue. I was upset about her medical care and heard what she said about boots out of context.
Lastly, My daughter is proudly serving in the military, it's something she's wanted pretty much all her life. Her father was in the Army and served 2 tours in vietnam and came home to only his family being proud of his service. Her Grandmother and Grandfather met during WW2 while they were serving in the Navy.
She has worked very hard to get where she is now and it's very frustrating to see (not just in her case) the type of medical care our active duty soldiers are receiving.
For your information, left wing I am not!!! Just a proud mother.

As far as the boots go, my unit issues new boots when old boots are deemed "UNSERVICEABLE" but it is your responsibility to make it aware that they are bad. and what are boots any how? $125 + or - ?
