Hi, I got invited to do this amazing program called the National Young Leaders Conference and I'd really like to go unfourtunatly it costs $2,215 alone minus money for a plane ticket, and meals. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas on how to fundraise at least a little of this money so I could attend please any advice will help!

My daughter was just invited to one, $1880 and she's only 11. We have a friend who manages a small golf course and he's holding a golf tournament for her. $40 to play, $25 goes to her and the reamaining to the golf course. Our job is find people/sponsors willing to donate raffle prizes (two tickets for a par 3, etc). Prizes are ranging from $10 to $50 gift certificates, top of the line golf balls, etc. This course can accomodate 40 players, you do the math.

Another idea is to ask your mayor, principal or someone with that sort of standing to do an Eat-A-Thon. Say hamburgers or hot dogs. Send letters out to people you know, relatives, local businesses to sponser any amount of money in either a lump sum or by the burger/dog. Say the mayor eats 20 hot dogs in an hour and someone sponsors $2 a dog. The website for this program should have letters set in place that you can send out, adding in your specific info. Good luck and have a blast!

Ask local businesses to donate. Write them letters explaining why you need the money and why it would be a good cause to give you some. Seriously, they do do this. It's seriously good PR

Sell candy! Everyone loves candy, and if you tell them it's for a good cause it's always a great way to earn some cash!
