In a journey ie continuous in nature, where death is just a transition point, this is the best place and best time to assuage the tendencies of the past. Then why should be thought of getting down the bus mid way saying its too rush over here inside and shall abort the journey without knowing whether another bus shall come or not, or whether it shall be a bus with more crowd, or it could even be a bullock cart to travel next or it may also mean a walk under the hot sun thru the deserts next.
Perhaps with some patience, who knows, you shall get a comfortable seat at the next stop.
Anyway its always good to have some good interactions around so that the journey shall be happy and comfortable so that we are not much bored of as time passes by.
In the "Survival of All" theory, if at all man is competing with anything, it is time only, even that also, when considered and given the stature of a worthwhile dimension extending many births and deaths.

Suicide is considered a sin by many because they believe that they were created by God, in the image of God, and that to destroy what God made in His/Her own image is the worst sin that can be committed. I know that suicide would be a sin for me because I can think of at least one person who would feel that they had failed in life if I were to kill myself. If this is more than a theological question and you are considering suicide you should think about the impact on the other people in your life and you should consider looking up a help line if you need someone to really talk to about it.

From the allaboutGod.com website there is this:
Definition of Sin - What is it?
A definition of sin is doing what is wrong or not doing what is right according to God's rules (1 John 3:4). If God says "Do not lie" and you lie, then you have sinned. If God says "Do not steal" and you steal, then you have sinned.
So if God's rules state "do not commit suicide" and you do it, then you have sinned (by the reasoning above).
Also, it is against the law to commit suicide .
In re to the other person who recently responded: "you cannot choose when to die _ only God can do that...."
obviously, with your beliefs, God agreed that it was your time to die, or else he would have caused you to fail at in, rather than succeed.
Also, God chooses to call us up when it's time, be it a car accident, suicide, or whatever....it's still our destiny

According to the Bible suicide is one of the worst sins anyone can commit ..it's right up there with taking another persons life..It is said in the Bible that is you take your own life you will automaticaly go straight to hell without a chance for redemption and burn for all of eternity in the lowest darkest bowels of hell..and i'm accutaly wording i nicely ..the real text would make the hair on your neck stand up..people allways talk about the bible preaching gods love ..well there are parts that the catholic priest don't talk about that would scare the heck out of a really strong person.

I believe it is a sin as the bible says it is. I think God created us in his image and he doesn't want us to just kill what he created. But I also think only God knows a persons heart and I believe that sin is sin, no more no less. So, if he forgives, and he does or we would all be doomed, then he forgives all sin when he is asked and a person repents. So, these things are Gods business and the person who is committing the sin. I am not in the judging business, He tells me not to judge. So, I try not to. I don't agree that it is the unforgivable sin. The sin of turning your back on the holy spirit once you have tasted it and had it and then deny it, and make fun of it as though you never knew it...that is the only unforgivable sin.

A sin is only a sin if you have been given the law and understand it. God is merciful and I am sure a great many people who have committed suicide will find a merciful God waiting for them in the end. Many of these people could have suffered from mental illnesses and broken hearts that we should dare not judge!

suicide is considered a sin because god is the only one who is suppose to control your life. If you kill yourself you are playing god and there is only one god. That's why its a sin. People have different views on if suicide is always a sin because of the circumstances but its the only sin that can't be forgiven.

This is a case of people using religion to blame the victim. People commit suicide, almost always, because they have very severe mental illness (depression of some kind). It's so easy to judge, so hard to empathize or understand. I guess that brain scans (PROOF) that someone doesn't think right and is suffering horribly from the pain of depression isn't enough for the people who would prefer to judge others.

Actually the sin has been committed before the suicide takes place.
Unhappiness, hatred, hurt, pain, self pity, etc. are all vices of the devil.
If the sinful vices leads one to take their own life then I think it is safe to say it is a sin.

This depends on your religious beliefs. For one to commit suicide,he has to be very emotionaly ill. If the patient is logical and rational in his thinking,he will not choose suicide as a treatment of choice. If the patient is very religious and his religious convictions are that, of suicide being a sin...then (under the illness ) he commits suicide....he was not in a logical or rational state of mind.Would you still think that he commited a sin ?
