So I bought an ipod today, it's a nano and cost about $150.
I go to itunes to download the program.
(I have a 56k. dail up connection and a Robotics modem.)
So I put in my email, click download and wait. Awail later, I get a little message saying:
"The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?
Name: iTunesSetup.exe
Publisher: Unknown Publisher
Type: Application"
and the options
"Run," or "Cancel" (cancel is highlighted in blue.)
I click run because I want to get music onto my ipod. Then another message comes up, this time it says:
"c:\name\iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid windows 32 application."
and the only option is "Okay."
I HAVE WINDOWS XP!!! So whats up?

well probably because your on dial-up. no offense I just got away from it. But that could be a problem. Also I assume your getting this file from apple? Make sure its the right one.

Ok. Reset your computer first of all. Secondly, unplug your ipod if its plugged in. Thats bad. Try to download Itunes again and then when it's totally on your computer and you've moved your library in Itunes. You may THEN connect your ipod.
