Questions like this always bring out the religious nutters, don't they? Have you noticed that most are Americans?
If there was any sort of controlling power over this planet, wouldn't you think we'd have seen some evidence of its existence by now. People above talk about design - what design? Take humans, for instance. If we were designed, god must have had one too many drinks at lunchtime that day. Our posture by standing up straight puts tremendous strain on our skeleton, especially our spine. We've still not completely evolved from the apes yet.
Coastal erosion? Why did God decide to make that happen?
Volcanoes and earthquakes, what are they all about then, you religious freaks?
They will tell you it is "faith" ... "blind faith", more like. Religion is for people that need a psychological crutch to get through life ... a life, incidentally, that is so inconsequential in the scheme of even the history of this planet (which is, after all, a mere speck of dust comparatively) let alone the universe, that no god would waste his time on us.
Oh ... and lets see ... what's the cause behind almost every war and modern-day terrorism ... ooh ... religion.
These nutters have got a lot to answer for

I don't think anyone can give you sound proof that God really exists, but if you look around you can see the wonders of His hand. The Bible is the source to your answer.

Do you have proof that there isnt? but ill tell you something there is a God, He created the stars, sun, moon, trees, plants, grass, planets, and etc. God is powerful and doesnt force you to do anything. He gives you a free will to do anything that you want. And if you believe in Him then your reward is heaven and if not you go to hell.

Hi, my name joshua kane, i am not jesus, jesus was just this kid that used to follow me around, back in the good old days - he would listen to my speeches and serve food, drink my wine and sometimes he would go for long walks to contemplate his belly button! Well, i am here to tell you about the TRONGOD, and the gospel of zerokane.THATS WHAT I WAS HERE FOR IN THE BEGINNING, but that pesky jesus, kept on bothering me. Mind you i reckon i got off lightly, you know what happened to jesus, although I was surprised that Judas grassed him up. they were lovers you know! Must have had an argument! It disturbs me a great deal that i have been forgotten, jesus that 'scamp', stole my ideas and ideals and passed them off as his own, obviously he changed a lot of my texts, facts and history, due to copyright reasons, but my disciples certainly were a little fickle, as soon as Jesus gave all that fish and bread , they were off, followed him around all day every day, 24 - 7, i think i had a lucky escape. Anyway, as i was saying, my god, my gospel is the true word! It must be true because I wrote it all in a book, but i found out recently that the 'vatican' are witholding it from publication, something about truth, reality, demise of the church and all that! Well, i'm back now, so they better be ready to apologise, give me back my book and do something about that whole 'jesus' thing. My dad says hello, and my mum is busy doing some blessings, dad isin the garden trying to make a better earth , the first one he made has really got disease infected. See you at EASTER!

If God is omnipotent and omnipresent the he must know the future. If God knows the future then everything is pre-ordained, in which case mankind has no free will. Who would want to be God for a load of robots who are simply going through the motions?

Phillip Gardiner has a book on that... You should check it out; the man used a scientific approach... he is no believer.

second book on the list
Notice all these other answers are based on "faith," which is a belief that demonstrates trust in their religious leaders. Their approach is not what you are looking for and is sometimes offensive. Don't you worry, you are not alone here. I know what is like being around people who feel insulted by acknowledging differences of spiritual approaches.
It is easy to "believe" and leave spirituality there, no question, no practice, what they practice is just enough to keep the society barely in balance. Which is good, but you know there is more to God than what some preacher told you to believe.
Faith goes only so far, but there is terror from these people when they are in front of evidence of the mechanics of the soul; past lives, out of the body experiences, near death experiences, shamanism, magic, ghosts, and all unexpected truths out of their system of beliefs. They just come from the devil according to them. (?)

Nobody can 'prove' that to others either way. There are always ways to reason around inconvenient facts. But consider this: What is it that humans desire most?
Is it money? Love? Adventure, glory? Fame? Power?
Love, adventure, and glory are all just enjoyable experiences. Money, power, and fame could be regarded as ways of ensuring that you will get those experiences. So you could say that all we desire is to have enjoyable experiences.
But how many people do you know that are truly satisfied *because* they have money, power, or fame? That are truly content with the love, adventure, and glory in their life? No one is.
No matter how much money a person gets, they always need just a little bit more. No matter how much power a person gets, they want more -- Alexander wept because there was nowhere left to conquer, and he was not satisfied. No matter how much fame a person gets (if it is something they desire), they will want more.
What about the actual experiences? The fact is, we all long after 'true love,' a love that is stronger than anything we have ever experienced. Those of us that love adventure are always seeking higher thrills. And those that bask in glory must always have more.
Our world has an extremely high regard for 'experienced' people. I mean, what civilian is going to argue against a veteran about an issue regarding war? Even in the case of sorrow, unless you've lost someone of equal importance, you cannot comfort a person grieving over a death. But if you've lost someone that you can claim was any closer, you can tell them that it's hard, but they can make it through it, because you did. And who doesn't want to be able to speak to everyone as the voice of experience; to be able to smile knowingly, because you've seen something greater (or worse)?
SO. My point is, humans always desire greater experiences. Money, power, fame are only satisfying for the moment. Then we want something bigger. Then something bigger. So how can we ever truly be satisfied?
We need something infinite, something that can always be that 'bigger' for us, something that can always satisfy us. The only name I know for that is God.
All of that doesn't prove God exists. It just shows that for some strange reason, we have a 'God-shaped vacuum' in our heart, a need for 'God.' If we all came about by chance there would be no reason for that -- the only desire in our heart would be to reproduce. So you have to wonder why it is that our hearts are born yearning for God. If you don't believe in him, what is there to hope for? You will never be satisfied. If you do believe in him, it is comforting to know that he is the answer to every one of your desires.

Open your eyes and look around you-do you think a tooth fairy created all this with a planet made perfect to maintain human life-look at a tiny sperm/egg that grows into a human being and the intricacies of the human body and how it all functions together but most of all, look into the bible and open your heart and mind and let the Holy Spirit teach you for the word of God says "ye shall know the truth and the truth will set you free"...Your sight, taste, touch, smell, hearing all testify to the Creator and He is eternal and so are we and we live one place or another for all eternity and we make the choice!
God would not have anyone perish but that all have everlasting life with Him. I didn't want Jesus messing up my fun but after 40 years of living my way, I was near suicide and reached out to Him and my life has never been the same.
