what kind of wood should i use to build a subwoofer box for my car? i want it to look nice but also be cheap and sound good with the sub thanks

MDF, Is what they usually use. You can pick up a 4x8 foot sheet for like 20 bucks at home depot. I dont know if that is in you price range but if it isnt then just use thick plywood, if you cover it with material then it wont matter what the wood looks like.

Definately build it out of 3/4" MDF (medium density fiberboard). It is the best material for acoustics. Make sure that you build the enclosure to the woofer manufacturers specs. And always put some Polyfill inside. It will help with reverbration.

3/4 inch mdf is the best but the cheapest i would use is 1/2 inch particle board usually lowes is the cheapest to get either one
