If you kill and when you get to prison you start to fallow god does he forgive you then?
I knew some of my husbands past, that his brother was in prison for 2 counts of murder.. But had nothing to do with me and him really... So today I got a letter in the mail from him.. I do not know him, and didnt like getting the letter.. I dont believe in what he did at all.. I was wondering since in his letter it said that he prays now for his mistake and god is forgiving him.. Does God forgive for something he said not to in the first place?
I also dont believe he made a mistake, I believe a mistake is something you do when you are tring to do something good and you fail.. I believe he made a chose, and it is not forgivable.. I am guessing it is my opion just wanted an honest answer

I dont think maybe that is what I was thinking.. I know who God is, but I did not state he stabbed a women to death, while holding her mouth shut so she could not scream, stabbed her husband to death to and threw him off a bridge.... he then took there money and car... and drove around in it for a week proud...

God may have forgiven him. He may now pray for his mistakes. He may want to talk to someone about his spiritual progress but remember, it is not God talking, it is a guy talking. I think God's forgiveness of a person's sins is God's business and that person's. I don't actually know the details and I can't know the details.
Whatever he thinks God is doing for him, it doesn't have to change your feelings about what he did. You don't have to feel like all has been forgiven here on earth - even if it has been in heaven.
Prisoners can get religious, get spiritual, find God. Whether it is too late or not doesn't matter - especially to their victims. Maybe prison just gives a person a lot of time with few distractions and so all this spiritual feeling comes to them because they can focus more.
Doesn't mean you have to accept it or change your feelings. Or trust that person.

Moses murdered. King David murdered. Apostle Paul assisted in murder. So YES God does forgive murder of a repentant heart. YES.

I agree that murder is not a "mistake." it's a sin.
All sins are equal in one very real sense. James 2:10-11 says, "For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. For He who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not murder." The "smallest" sin separates us from God as completely as the "biggest" sin.
"For ALL have sinned" Romans 3:23
For the wages of sin is death" Romans 6:23a (the Bible speaks of several different kinds of death; the one referred to here is spiritual death, which results in eternal separation from God in hell.
"but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23b
God doesn't rate sins; all are equal. So guess what--we all are equally condemned. But God loved us so much He paid for our sins (John 3:16). Now we can be saved by believing hin Him.
I don't know whether your bil is truly saved or not; there are a lot of false or shallow conversions. But if one believes in Jesus, he is saved. Yes, God forgives murder, just like He forgives all the other things He said not to do in the first place, like adultery, lying, stealing dishonoring our parents, taking God's name in vain, etc.
Do be cautious. Maybe he's saved, and maybe he's playing the system. But yes, God does forgive murder. Whether or not your bil has appropriated His forgiveness or only says he has remains to be seen.

God forgives all your sins when you come to him for forgiveness. Your brother-in-law did make a mistake because to take a life instead of just walking away and because he asked God to forgive him, God most likely did.

It doesn't matter how bad you are in life....God will forgive you but you have to repent for your sins. That does not give u the right to do bad things, God knows everything, if ur seriouse or not. You have to believe and you have to ask for his forgiveness. Tell him what you did and know what you did was wrong. But yes God will forgive you for anything.

The question is not will God forgive murder, but will the person is willing to accept forgiven. It is in the person to accept and follow God's grace or not. In addition, it seems that you are having difficulty forgiving your husband's brother, and by not letting go, it will only eaten you up.

I believe God forgives but the person has to sincerely be sorry for his sins and God will know if he is sincere. It's not something you can fake.

whether you lie, steal or kill a sin is a sin and they are all equal. the lord works in mysterious ways that we do not understand.
everything that happens has already been written. in this situation it was meant for him to some day find the lord but it's sad that people had to lose their lives in order for them to finally meet. the lord forgives who ever calls upon him and ask to be forgiven.

historically when wars were fought, both sides had God on their side,
depends on who your God is and how one justifies what God does or does not forgive with self righteoius rhetoric
