Ask her intrests, wants, desires, etc. When she gives an answer ask more questions to find out more about whatever it is. You never know, you may find out you like something other than cars that she likes as well

Well, ask her simple questions, like what is her favorite color or animal or job or stuff like that. Pay close attention to her answers and build the conversation off of what she says. Find a part of the conversation that makes her eyes lite up and gets her talking.

You're not talking to a face with no name, you know! You just reminded me of so many past dates, that could only talk about themselves! Needless to say, no connection was made with the guys who were like that, so no one got to know the other better. You just had to sit there and listen to their chattering on and on about themselves. And you're asking yourself, "Why am I even here?" The secret is to ask questions that will get you to know their personalities, their interests, what they like, what they don't like. This world is so wide. All of life is not limited to the world of cars! Put your thinking cap on! But ask questions NOT related to cars! Keep yourself off that topic, unless the girl likes cars herself! Like what's the point of being with someone, if it isn't getting to know them? If you truly care about who you're with, you'll begin to think of things to ask about that can bring some connection. It's not hard! But first rule of thumb, to keep a girl, you've got to show interest in them. When you're doing a monologue, you've just lost the game! Ask a question, to get the ball rolling back and forth! Then you'll get the flow going! Ask anything! About some movie maybe, or American Idol, or Paris Hilton, or Anna Nicole Smith, or some book you've just read! But drop the speech only about your interests! You'll get nowhere fast! Good luck!

Find something you have in common and talk about that

Maybe you have the wrong girl, I never had a problem talking about cars, as long as you don't talk to me as if I don't know anything about cars because I'm a girl.

( I built hotrods when I was in high school too)

It may seem like such a hard thing to do, but its not all that bad. If you want to impress a girl, what would be the best way to go about it? Ask her anything. If you have a question or want to know something about her, then you should not be afraid to ask it. The only stupid question is the one unasked.

find a girl that is interested in cars, then you can talk and be interested in each others conversation, or you can stop talking about cars and find something that you both like to talk about, if the conversation stops because of that then it wasnt meant to be to begin with

Talk about music, school, movies, TV, celebrities, and your future. You are old enough to be informed about the news and what's going on in the world. Read the newpaper and listen to the new. Broaden your interests.

Initially, the best way is to talk what she likes to listen untill you find she is completely involved. You may also practice to listen more then to speak... Tell me the result if you find the difference... Best of luck.

What I do is to MAKE A CONSCIOUS EFFORT to "think as if I were in her shoes."
Try to see situations from her perspective to gain a more personal perspective on whatever issue that she brings up.
When the idea-flow runs dry, try to observe viewpoints from her point of view and make an "outside" view of YOUR perpsective on the same issue. <-This should help her see that you are trying to "think outside the box."
