I believe all new drivers especially those under 18 should have to take drivers education. I drive over 3000 miles every week in my truck so I see a lot of drivers on the road. Why do you think anyone should be allowed to operate a deadly weapon without any education? Driver's ed was for a long time required before an insurance company would issue a policy. People have not been required to take driver's ed for many years so.. People are being taught to drive by people who never had a formal education in driving. More people need drivers training besides just 18 and less. But at this time the biggest killer of children under 18 are car related crashes. I don't think the driver's ed law do not go far enough.

I think it's a fantastic idea. I had to take a driver's ed class when I was in High School and I think it made me a better driver. I learned no only how to drive, but the rules of the road. Too many people do not know how to handle a car, it's a big machine that can kill. Take the class and learn. Stop complaining.

Definitely an improvement in the state's law to protect the new and more experienced drivers. I took it, and I honestly think it made me a more careful driver. I have also taken a refresher course to keep my insurance rates down.

Having worked on an Ambulance fro 2 years, I say everyone should be required to take yearly driving safety classes, especially men in pickup trucks, they seem to be the most angry drivers.

listen, my cousin is now 17 years old. I spent so much time teaching her to drive a car and parallel park (I also taught her older sister) She has been drinking and driving since she got her license, and maybe before. Some friend of hers had a mother that allowed her to drive without a permit even. I think that some kids are really irresponsible and should not even have a license so you cannot complain that kids have to take drivers ed.

I think it is great. Parents will love it because most insurance companies give discounts to teen drivers who have have drivers ed class if they are insured on their parents policy.

I think that its a good thing because there are so many kids out there behind the steering wheel that have no business being there. The majority of wrecks are cause by inexperienced and drunk drivers.

In some states this has always been the case. It's nice to see that other states this idea is catching on.

Yes!! and all new parents should have to take a class in proper parenting, for one thing knowing to teach there children to drive.
I have taught a few young guys to drive, someone has to,they did nt have parents and they scared the HELL out of me
But they appreciated me taking my time to show them and allow them to drive my car as practice while i was in the car.so it was worth it .but damn they scared me sometimes.people need to show their children how to drive properly like my dear mother did for me.

What state is this in? I think it's a great idea! Driving is a huge responsibility, and children need to learn proper driving safety!
