Oh and he is just a little younger then me, he is old enough to make a religious choice on his own.
and i am OK with whatever his choice might be, i've studied almost all religions before (Seeking my own path)

Remember the general rule, people have the right to be wrong - if they choose to do so even, unwittingly. The human experience demands, that people go his or her own ways and arrive at the conclusion that: He or She is not God and , therefore, God is relevant. God leaves the world in the hands of His human creation, allows them to "do their own thing" - suffer as a result and ultimately, destroy the earth (nuclear war - Global warming and resulting diseases etc.) . Man learns that they are incapable of maintaining the Earth with out God in the "picture". Life is a learning experience, that is why it is temporary !

You have to let people go their own way sometimes, even if it's a relative. If he once followed god, he will again. Give him time. If a horrible thing happens to us it's normal to blame god. After the pain goes away you will return to your roots. You might want to find out why he says this now. It must be something deep going on with him. Find out what made him change his mind.

We often run across periods of doubt or feelings of distance from God. Most will return. Just don't encourage him into something you know he should not get involved with. Just be a listener and let him make his decision.

You didn't ask any question, so I'd just say let him be. It's our differences that make life interesting, and people should be able to choose whatever religion they want to follow.
It's also possible that he might be saying this to get a reaction from you and he doesn't' really mean it, either way I wouldn't make a big deal out of it.

If you studied all most all religions you wasted a lot of useless time didn't you. Tell your cousin to quit being a fence straddler and make up his mind. He should come down for one side or the other. It does no good to try and hedge your bet in something like this. He's just being silly.

You don't have to do anything.
You said he is old enough to make up his own mind.
He is not in any danger.
What are you worried about? Respect him for having a mind of his own and being capable of critical thinking.

Why do you need to do anything? If he is old enough to make his own decisions then let him make them.

If your okay with it, and think people should follow their own path, then leave it be. Let him make his own choices, and support him. Not a tough one.

Losing your faith is a painful process. Be nice to him. Just remember, he may very well be returning the favor to you someday.
