Pretty much. There's a religion founded on the movies "The Matrix" no joke. Matrixism. If you want true enlightenment, seek out Discordianism =)

Well I guess many people do work in this way but I cannot speak for them, but I can say that wether or not you could find in certain religions what you are looking for. That would of course depend on what you are looking for, there are many religions that accommodate many things yet they may not accommodate what I look for in a religion I have found this to be the case they do not mostly, because I was looking for truth, I found that most religions do not accommodate this only one does and I have found it(truth) but you are right in what you are saying there this is also why people say that it doesn't matter which road you take because all roads lead to God, but is that truly the case?Jesus said it different he said that there are two roads one leading to life and God and the other road leads to destruction (Matthew7:13,14)So obviously it does matter which road we are on.

Yes, I believe even within the same religion different people will latch onto different messages and aspects of the religion according to who they are and what appeals to them. I will use Christianity for example. God in the OT is wrathful and judgmental deity. In the NT Jesus is much more bringing a message of love, charity, and tolerance. I see many Christians latching onto different concepts of God as it fits them. Some focus on the judgmental God and others the peaceful, forgiving.

In Islam, some select words and depictions in their holy text seem to justify terrorist acts to some of its followers. Many though will tell you that theirs is a religion of peace and many are in fact living lives of peace.

I think that the personality and circumstances of the individual is more predictive of their behavior than religion.

I'm a Buddhist, and up to now I can find what i'm looking for in Buddhism. I'm not looking for hatred or so forth, because you don't have to look it in a religion, it already exist around us. I choose Buddhism because the teachings fit me and my ideas. It's just a matter of choice, which religion you feel is the right religion for you.

Yes, I believe that there is a religious community that a person can feel extremely comfortable in. I wish them luck in finding it, and help if I can.
