It depends on the strength of the advil. Is it 200 mg or 400 mg? If you've taken 4 of the 200 mg strength, that's 800 mg which is what a doctor will prescribe for severe pain. If it's 400 mg, you've ingested 1600 mg of pain relief, which can be extremely damaging to your liver. Dangerous and not a good idea. Also, if you are taking 800 mg of Advil, don't take it for long.

If it is regular Advil that you have bought at the local store, then it's probably just 200mg. When I have a bad headache or cramps I have to take 4 of these, which is a total of 800mg. You should be okay. But if you are a small person and don't weigh very much, then I wouldn't make a habit of taking 4.

When you are prescribed IB Proffen from a doctor, it usually comes in a 800mg tab which = 4 over the counter IB Proffen that you get from Walgreens or other drug stores. Every once in a while I get bad headaches and I take 4 IB Proffen, it will not hurt you. Advil is IB Proffen, unless they are adding other ingredients for cold and cough or sinus pressure. Most times it will make you sleepy. Usually it will be ingredients such as guafisen, benadryl and stuff that should not harm. Too often is never a good thing though. I would not continue to take that often if you chose to take that many.

Its only not a big deal if the meds are different, for instance, 400 mg paracetamol and 400mg ibuprofen is fine taken together. But if you take 600 - 800mg paracetamol alone, you seriously risk liver damage. So not worth it. Otherwise sensible people seriously underestimate the dangers of toxic poisoning from over the counter drugs. You may feel Ok now, (I'm, still living..says PJ Party Pinky..) but the damage you are doing will rear it's ugly head one day. For sure.

what happens? of course you will have pain relief. however, one advil is already equivalent to two 500 mg of paracetamol/ibuprofen. paracetamols/ibuprofens are hepatotoxic (toxic to the liver). if you often take that amount (4 advils instead of 2), ur causing harm to your liver.

You risk injuring your stomach lining.

Taking more than 4-5 Advil is not reccomended. You COULD overdose.
That type of death is not the fun, 'lolz-im-on-heroin' death: it HURTS.

Nothing, except better pain relief. For bad headaches, I often end up having to take four.
