People are people, no matter what religion they claim to be. Because Muslims were involved in the attack on our country on 9-11, some people (including some Christians) lump all Muslims together and assume that they are all terrorists or at least heathens. I would hazzard a guess that in Muslim countries, the US is not terribly popular at the moment either and Christians most definately are not popular with Muslims. It is always "the other side" that is wrong, whether it be in war, in politics or in religion. You can see by the constant battle between Christians and Atheists on this site as a perfect example. As a Christian, it is difficult for me to acknowledge a non believer as someone worth listening to etc.

I'm sure Muslims living in this country (especially those born here) love the US as much as we do, faults and all and it is grossly unfair that they are judged based solely on their religious beliefs.

Even some religious leaders (Christian) are bashing those that believe in Islam and are foretelling the end times based on the vast disagreements that are historic between the Christian and the Muslim. I'm sure those teachings are not helping us to be more accepting of anothers viewpoint either. Although I disagree with the religious beliefs of Islam, they, like we, have the right to make their own choices. Let's hope that things won't get completely out of hand. A full scale world wide holy war . . . is something none of us need.

As Vuk pointed out the Koran is bloody. But so is the old testament!

What is the difference? Theology: Reason: Putting things into context!

The violoence in the old testament is reasoned like this:

Through the bible we see a transition in humanity from caveman to christian. The caveman killed his enemy, his enemy's family and his descendants. Then came the new law for the Jews: you can only take an eye for an eye and tooth for tooth. This was revolutionary at the time, not acceptable any more in the Christian era, where you have to do good to those who hate you. Now with this, we see the old testament wars in context!

But the Muslims have left behind theology some hundreds of years ago. There was once a time when Muslim theology was in harmony with science. Now they take the Koran at face value, leaving reason far behind. This a relatively NEW PHENOMENON it was not always like this!

This is the problem Pope Benedict was talking about in his Reinsburg speach, and it is not meant to offend!

And it is also a warning against leaving behind Christian reason for interpretation of the bible at face value (Mr Walker Bush!)......... Thats why the world is going crazy.

Armenia was the world's first Christian nation and you will rejoice to know that the Ottoman Turks (all Muzzies) performed their wonderful, friendly, approved by socialists, Jihad and killed all the Christians in the name of Allah the Merciful. That is a happy point for you to rejoice over you Christian bashing raghead *** kisser.
9/11 was just celebrating July 4th a little late but I bet you were cheering the Muzzy team and shouting Allah Akbar when people were falling and jumping out the windows
History shows that as soon as Muslims get a majority in a population the start killing everyone or forcing them to pay tribute which you approve of because it is Christians they persecute.
I for one am willing to kill them now so they won't kill my children when they get a chance.
Wake up the intend to conquer us and subject us to their false religion or slavery. They are not going to sit around a campfire and sing "Khom Bye Yah"
I hope you didn't like what I have to say and try doing some research on your own to prove me right or wrong.

1. Media maligns Islam

1. Islam is without doubt the best religion but the media is in the hands of the westerners who are afraid of Islam. The media is continuously broadcasting and printing information against Islam. They either provide misinformation about Islam, misquote Islam or project a point out of proportion, if any.
2. When any bomb blasts take place anywhere, the first people to be accused without proof are invariably the Muslims. This appears as headlines in the news. Later, when they find that non-Muslims were responsible, it appears as an insignificant news’ item.
3. If a 50 year old Muslim marries a 15 year old girl after taking her permission, it appears on the front page but when a 50 year old non-Muslim rapes a 6 year old girl, it may appear in the news in the inside pages as ‘Newsbriefs’. Everyday in America on an average 2,713 cases of rape take place but it doesn’t appear in the news, since it has become a way of life for the Americans.

Let us analyze this allegation of ‘fundamentalism’ and ‘terrorism’:

1. Definition of the word ‘fundamentalist’

A fundamentalist is a person who follows and adheres to the fundamentals of the doctrine or theory he is following. For a person to be a good doctor, he should know, follow, and practise the fundamentals of medicine. In other words, he should be a fundamentalist in the field of medicine. For a person to be a good mathematician, he should know, follow and practise the fundamentals of mathematics. He should be a fundamentalist in the field of mathematics. For a person to be a good scientist, he should know, follow and practise the fundamentals of science. He should be a fundamentalist in the field of science.

2. Not all ‘fundamentalists’ are the same

One cannot paint all fundamentalists with the same brush. One cannot categorize all fundamentalists as either good or bad. Such a categorization of any fund amentalist will depend upon the field or activity in which he is a fundamentalist. A fundamentalist robber or thief causes harm to society and is therefore undesirable. A fundamentalist doctor, on the other hand, benefits society and earns much respect.

3. I am proud to be a Muslim fundamentalist

I am a fundamentalist Muslim who, by the grace of Allah, knows, follows and strives to practise the fundamentals of Islam. A true Muslim does not shy away from being a fundamentalist. I am proud to be a fundamentalist Muslim because, I know that the fundamentals of Islam are beneficial to humanity and the whole world. There is not a single fundamental of Islam that causes harm or is against the interests of the human race as a whole. Many people harbour misconceptions about Islam and consider several teachings of Islam to be unfair or improper. This is due to insufficient and incorrect knowledge of Islam. If one critically analyzes the teachings of Islam with an open mind, one cannot escape the fact that Islam is full of benefits both at the individual and collective levels.

4. Dictionary meaning of the word ‘fundamentalist’

According to Webster’s dictionary ‘fundamentalism’ was a movement in American Protestanism that arose in the earlier part of the 20th century. It was a reaction to modernism, and stressed the infallibility of the Bible, not only in matters of faith and morals but also as a literal historical record. It stressed on belief in the Bible as the literal word of God. Thus fundamentalism was a word initially used for a group of Christians who believed that the Bible was the verbatim word of God without any errors and mistakes.

According to the Oxford dictionary ‘fundamentalism’ means ‘strict maintenance of ancient or fundamental doctrines of any religion, especially Islam’.

Today the moment a person uses the word fundamentalist he thinks of a Muslim who is a terrorist.

5. Every Muslim should be a terrorist

Every Muslim should be a terrorist. A terrorist is a person who causes terror. The moment a robber sees a policeman he is terrified. A policeman is a terrorist for the robber. Similarly every Muslim should be a terrorist for the antisocial elements of society, such as thieves, dacoits and rapists. Whenever such an anti-social element sees a Muslim, he should be terrified. It is true that the word ‘terrorist’ is generally used for a person who causes terror among the common people. But a true Muslim should only be a terrorist to selective people i.e. anti-social elements, and not to the common innocent people. In fact a Muslim should be a source of peace for innocent people.

6. Different labels given to the same individual for the same action, i.e. ‘terrorist’ and ‘patriot’

Before India achieved independence from British rule, some freedom fighters of India who did not subscribe to non-violence were labeled as terrorists by the British government. The same individuals have been lauded by Indians for the same activities and hailed as ‘patriots’. Thus two different labels have been given to the same people for the same set of actions. One is calling him a terrorist while the other is calling him a patriot. Those who believed that Britain had a right to rule over India called these people terrorists, while those who were of the view that Britain had no right to rule India called them patriots and freedom fighters.

It is therefore important that before a person is judged, he is given a fair hearing. Both sides of the argument should be heard, the situation should be analyzed, and the reason and the intention of the person should be taken into account, and then the person can be judged accordingly.

7. Islam means peace

Islam is derived from the word ‘salaam’ which means peace. It is a religion of peace whose fundamentals teach its followers to maintain and promote peace throughout the world.

Thus every Muslim should be a fundamentalist i.e. he should follow the fundamentals of the Religion of Peace: Islam. He should be a terrorist only towards the antisocial elements in order to promote peace and justice in the society.

Christians have a right to be concerned because much violence is directed against them. Just go to Africa and you might be captured and sold as a slave. It might interest you that Islam is no accident, and is a scourge to punish Christians who disobeyed Jesus and killed in his name (What an insult to the Gospel).
The Koran is favorable to Christians and Jews because they are believers in "The Book" which Mohammed quotes from frequently. After Israel became a state (1948), things have changed & Israel's return to Palestine is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Also, medieval Bible commentators knew Islam was described in Bible prophecy. There is a page published on the Internet describing this: The Rise, Decline, and Death of Islam as Predicted in the Bible. The One who counts the hairs of you head knows all our problems.

Probably because its right in the Quran to do things such as that and most Muslims are happy to either give money, support, or at the very least look the other way when "unbelievers" are being killed and in many cases other Muslims that arent radical enough!

Jesus never taught to do crimes, Muhammad did!

Its only going to get worse if democrats cut and run in Iraq and we have more attacks on US soil.

Never in my life have I heard of crimes done in the name of Jesus!!
However when you hijack a plane & kill many people all for the sake of your religion or god( like what happened on 9-11)is a disgusting thing to do.Its not that christians or anybody for that matter bash muslims its just that When your attacked in your very own country by people like this you can't help but feel angry & be cautious with these people.

If you are talking about the crusades, they where in response to muslim aggression against the Byzantine empire. Here is what muslims think should happen to non-muslims...

VIII/65: "O Prophet! Exhort the believers to fight. If there be of you twenty steadfast they shall overcome two hundred, and if there be of you a hundred stedfast they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they (the disbelievers) are a folk without intelligence."

VIII/67-69: "It is not for any Prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land. Ye desire the lure of this world and Allah desireth (for you) the Hereafter, and Allah is Mighty, Wise. Had it not been for the ordinance of Allah which had gone before, an awful doom had come upon you on account of what ye took. Now enjoy what ye have won, as lawful and good, and keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."

VIII/12: "When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying:) I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then maim them in every limb and smite of them each finger."

IX/73: "Oh Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites! Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey's end."

LXIX/30-37: "(It will be said): Take him and fetter him and then expose him to hell-fire And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is 70 cubits. Lo! he used not to believe in allah the Tremendous, And urged not on the feeding of the wretched, Therefore hath he no lover here this day, Nor any food save filth Which none but sinners eat."

LXXVI/4: "Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire."

Sahih Al Bukhari, 216:"I have been ordered to fight against people until they testify that there is no God but Allah & that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah & until he performs the prayers & pays the Zakat."

Sahih Muslim, 217: "Verily Allah has prescribed proficiency in all things. Thus if you kill, KILL WELL, & if you slaughter, SLAUGHTER WELL. Let each one of you sharpen his blade."

Does that not sound like something to not like. I don't know about you but I like my finger how they are, not "smitten off".

Too many are uneducated. They believe sterotypes
or think that the extreme groups within one race/religon/
culture are the norm.

I tend to beleive also that THESE people we refer to
are actually in the minority and only in the headlines
for media's sake. I am confident that 98% of my family
and friends do not make such judgements.
