I'm not sure if there are expert wood carvers in Bangkok. The sure bet is in Chiang Mai. If you happen to have plan to go to Chiang Mai, then try look into Baan Tawai wood carving villege. Also, on Sunday starting around 4 p.m., try to make it to the walking street by Tha Pae or the Old City Gate in Chiang Mai, there are lots of artists or craft local brokers who might enlighten you to how to find the artisan who can craft the wood from photos.

I do know that there are artists in Chatuchak Plaza, just next door to the weekend market. There are various kinds of artistic works available. I believe if you can make enquiry with any one there, someone can help you find a match.

Chatuchak Plaza is open 7 days a week from 10am till 6pm.

If they can, it is probably because they are going to send it up to Chiang Mai... this is where you will find expert wood carvers..
