Can it rain 40 days & nights like it says in the Bible?

That would require almost more water than is in the ocean, & the atmosphere would have to be what, 100,000% saturated?

Wouldn't the sun not shining for so long plunge the earth into an ice age? I believe temp can drop over 60 degrees at night sometimes, & this is just in ONE night.

Can logical laws be over-ridden to perform the impossible? If so, we need to let our scientists know, so we can do this too.

Perhaps we need to abandon even having any natural laws, if the real law is that you can do anything you want, break any natural law you want, etc etc.

Maybe natural laws CAN be broken & should not be recognized as a limit at all?

What think ye, the Yahoo Answer Gods?

No. "Breaking natural law" isn't like breaking one of the Commandments. "Natural law" means "that which is possible in nature." Either it's possible or it's not.

"With God all things are possible." Well, fine, if that satisfies you. Some of us demand more from an explanation. The plain fact is that a global flood such as described in the bible is impossible - believe it or not, there's not anywhere near enough water in the world to cover the world.

The way the Bible describes the pre flood world includes "the waters above the earth". It is possible that the earth could have had a lot more water surrounding it during the time of the flood. I can't tell you everything about how things went down, but I do know it was more than just rain. The whole earth was getting shook up.
You bring up a good point though. On the other side of the argument, you would have to temporarily suspend the natural laws of physics in order to get something from absolutely nothing like in the big bang. And saying that life can form from non living materials also goes against any natural law. Nothing in science supports the notion that life can come from non life. Those are two key principles of an naturalistic world view, that ignore natural laws. So you may be right.

We managed to destroy the atom and make its energy into a destructive force.
It can rain inside a cave for years.
I offer the frozen body of a mastodon with blooming plants still in its mouth.
It was once argued with logical rigor that man could never fly.
Natural Laws are sometimes a euphemism for Magick.
Magick is to extend the natural laws beyond those who live in padded boxes.

I think long and hard, and sometimes end up drinking a beer instead.

There are no natural laws. Natural laws are just theories that the exception to has not been found yet. The impossible is only believed to be impossible becasue no one has figured out how to to it. Flight was once impossibe, space travel too. Eventually nothing will be impossible.

Besides when speaking of events that are attributed to a deity, ANY deity, natural laws don't apply anyway.

You can break the Laws of Nature, but be prepared to pay the fines.

That's because God made it rain for forty days and nights, of course it can't naturally rain like that.

Would you like to see an ax head float??

2KI 6:3 Then one of them said, "Won't you please come with your servants?"
"I will," Elisha replied. 4 And he went with them.
They went to the Jordan and began to cut down trees. 5 As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. "Oh, my lord," he cried out, "it was borrowed!"

2KI 6:6 The man of God asked, "Where did it fall?" When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float. 7 "Lift it out," he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it.
