What's the best branch of the military?

In your opinion is it the:

Navy
Coast Guard (yes its a branch)
Army
Air Force
Marines

and why?

I'm assuming that you mean the best branch for enlisted personnel. Well, as the old joke goes:

Army soldier: "The enemy is firing at us from the jungle - this sucks!"

Marine: "We've been pinned down by enemy fire on the beach - this sucks!"

Naval sailor: "We've been hit by an enemy torpedo - this sucks!"

Coast Guard sailor: "That drug runner rammed our vessel - this sucks!"

Air Force airman: "My hotel's cable TV is out - this sucks!"

For women, Air Force: Its the greatest branch due to the fact its a little more laid back compared to the others, nicer uniforms too for women.
For men, Marines: A HELL of a lot more challenging than any of the other branches. Show me a man thats in the Marines and Id most likely go out with him, or become best friends with him. My little brother is a Marine.

There is no "best" military branch because they all serve their own specialized missions. Some may say the Marines' but the marines are useless if they cannot get to their destinations. This is provided by the air force and navy, Maybe its the air force, The Air force is used for strategic air strikes which can destroy enemy targets. But then again they need army and marine ground troops to engage targets to flush out the enemy after air strikes are made. The list of examples is infinite. Im sure you get my drift.

Marine Corps... We're the smallest military branch but yet we're the vanguard of the military. When foreigners ask you what you do and you tell them you're a Marine, they're in complet awe.

I have friends in every branch, whenever we have a reunion and we're all together; people come to me and ask me how life is in the Marine Corps. And they've all told me, they wish they could be Marines but don't because it's a hard life.

If you intend to have a family, The Air Force has the best housing etc, the Army is next then the Navy and Marines. The Air Force also has one of the higher standards for actually getting in mentally.

tough question, anyone who ever served in the military whatever branch they were in will its the better one, but i have heard air force, better job opp. and pay. Although if you join for travel, i ve heard the navy, so i guess it just depends, My boyfriend has been in the navy and the army, he liked the navy better.

Are asking because you are considering joining? Marines is harder for women just simply because the are ground duty, during the war, much safer to be in the water of air. You can always join whatever branch you prefer more and see if a job is available working with aircrafts if something like that interests you.

There was an episode of the Johnny Depp show "21 Jump Street" in which he was asked to list his choices, in order, of service to go into if he was drafted and allowed a choice. The answer was:

"Air Force, Navy, Army, Canada, Marines."

(Yeah he ignored the Coast Guard. Most people do because they are only controlled by the Navy when we are at war.)

personally Its the Marines semper fi! However all the branchs have their own specialty and there are some damned brave men and women in every branch and I feel honored to serve with each and every one of em
