I've noticed that whenever there is a reflection on the ceiling, for example from a CD, my cat stares at it and his jaw twitches. I know that seems weird, but I know my cat isn't the only one who does that.

Your cat is reacting to the light reflection as if it were a possible prey. Probably thinks its a bug of some sort. My kitten goes bonkers with the laser pointer.

Oh, those catz. Normal reaction. Nothing to worry about. Ever see them looking at a bird through the window? Jaw twitch and all. They think there is something to get. They are preditors. Enjoy it because you are a cat companion. It's no big deal!

Your cat wants to catch the light and play with it. Have you never teased your cat with the reflection of the sun off your watch or just by taking a flashlight in circles on the floor, it will drive them crazy...its even funnier if you do it after you give them catnip.
