I believe that God is gender-less as we know gender. Actually, I believe that God is BOTH genders. I think that men and women, while celebratedly different, both have qualities of God Almighty. I think God intentionally put some of him/her self into both sexes, and only when they are brought together do you get the whole enchilada. I think that the reason most people refer to "God" as a man is because Jesus referred to God as the "Heavenly Father." However, I believe that this was merely an illustration to demonstrate the love God has for us. I think that it would be equally correct to refer to God as a "she", although it would draw some strange looks from many conservative monotheists who have grown comfortable with the idea of a man in the Godhead position.

God does not have a gender. The writers of the Bible wrote "He" because society was very paternalistic back then.

Of course, not!

God is spirit and spirits don´t have genders.

Genders were, I believe, designed to make animal reproduction an agreeable task.
