In acountry with oil, diamonds, coffee and other minerals, why are more than half of the people poor ? Why don't the people who own and live on the land benefit from it? Why is it all being exported to make other foreigners rich, while the small pennies on top go to the Africans who are involved in all the labour?
Colonization of the African mind is a problem, and the decolonization is still a work in progress. There is a vicious cycle of destruction by Europeans and the West, and then there helping hand reaches out, but seems to never be enough.
The World bank who keeps Africa in a forever moving state of debt, they find to be unforgivable or excused is a problem ..

Problems?
Depends on what country. Famine due to civil war; HIV pandemic; descrimination, especially in South Africa that just abolished apartied, and the list is as endless as the savanah.
Solutions?
Probably will never be achieved until former tribal groups start viewing themselves as part of a bigger picture and citizen of a particular country. But then again, it was the old, white, European imperialists who decided what the borders would be regardless of which peoples lived on or in the borders.
What's needed is a great leader along the lines of Nelson Mandela who can galvanize the entire continent and make decisions about moving into the 21st century for those parts of the continent that are still worrying about living hand to mouth.

Where do you start? In my opinion I really think they should stop having so many children. We have an extreme amount of Africans who have migrated into my area; bless them, I am happy they have come here to find peace.
I must honestly say that they are all pregnant and pushing babies in prams and with little toddlers by their side. Every single one of them. So I think they should be educated in birth control. This is only the start of the solution.
We have all seen the atrocities that has happened in Darfur, we have all cried, and who hasn't been moved to send money? But can't they just slow down the population growth a little so the problem won't be so overwhelming?

i'm getting what you recommend. i'm interior the comparable boat different than i'm caught attempting to come returned to a kind if I would desire to do exactly not something and do exactly what i in my view choose to do instead of what society thinks we would desire to constantly, at the same time with, run after this materialistic international working all our lives to be helpful in some materialistic possessions that we don't even get to totally appreciate because of the fact we are too busy and all this time existence is passing by using until now our eyes. inspite of the undeniable fact that, I do have self assurance we are right here for a purpose. God did not create us for not something. each and every introduction has a purpose. purely question is are we solid sufficient to fulfill it?

Corruption. Shoot all the people who engage in personal satisfaction over the lives of other people and then, have them take responsibility for their own lives. Personal integrity would be a good start.
