You can adjust by using sunlight. You can do it gradually or quickly.
Be outside in the sun as much as you can especially the first thing in the morning. Be outside at the hour that you want to wake up...lets say 8 AM. Be sure to eat breakfast- lunch and dinner. Don't eat late in the evening.
Let the sun and your eating hours reset the time in your body.

Please don't take uppers like the other person said. You're starting a worse problem to solve another. That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. When my kids were small, I worked the 11-7 shift as a nurse. I wanted to be home when they went to school and be there when they went to bed. I did this for 25 yrs until the last one was married. Then I switched to 3-11, That kept me awake long enough. The adjustment was extremely difficult. When I didn't work, all I wanted to do was sleep all day. Can't do that though. I started riding my bike during the day. I invited friends over. believe me, my friends could keep anyone awake. By dinner time, I started cooking. I don't know if you care for that idea, but it worked for me. This wasn't an overnight success. 7 yrs later and I'm still trying to stay awake during the day. Right now even. it's1am. My internal clock is all screwed up. I can however, use a sleeping pill at night. My Dr. told me to try. They do work, but I don't like taking drugs. i had it filled in Jan. and I'm still on the same bottle. It does work, even if you sleep during the day. Sweet dreams to you.

Take an upper for a few days until you become adjusted. Keep a diary next to your bed and keep a log of your bedtime. Don't stay up all night and then expect to be fully awake in the daytime. Anyhow, unless you have a lot of things to do in the daytime, sleeping during the day is not such a bad thing. I'm a night person and having a night job would be a dream come true for me. I'm trying now to become part of society by waking up early and trying to go to bed early but I'm really grouchy when I do that.

Just stick with the coffee. Maybe you'll get used to it. Not a good idea to develop more habits than you really need. I worked days for 20 years, I still hate getting up early in the morning, but I love coffee.

It is difficult to make the adjustment. I took me about 6 months of going to bed at the same time every night before I could get a good night sleep.
Meditation and relaxation just before bedtime also helped.

wake-up pills. i worked nights and back-shift and I know what your saying.I adjusted by sitting the clock early in the am and trying to stay on the go all day and believe me by ten pm your ready to fall asleep .A glass of warm milk and lay the minute you drink it will help you fall asleep at night.a couple of nights doing this and you'll be back on day time being up and night time sleep. don't drink coffee for a few day's as it will also keep you awake day and night. You'll never adjust by drinking coffee.
