Canine acne is a benign self-limiting disease of the chin and lips of young dogs. Short-coated dogs, such as boxers, bulldogs and rottweilers, are at increased risk for acne. The condition starts at puberty around 5 to 8 months of age. Most dogs improve with age and the condition typically resolves after one year of age.

I had a Great Dane with the same problem. she'd get food on her chin and If i didn't wash it every day she got red pustuals. i would put triple antibiotic on her chin, but it was not a big deal. If it doesn't bother your dog too much wash her face every day and you will have less "acne'

Wash your doggy's face with an antibacterial liquid soap( Dial) rinse well so the soap doesn't make her sick. Dry really well. Wash her bowls in the dishwasher to make sure she isn't picking up any bacteria. If that doesn't clear up the scabbing in a few days-she might have an infection-time to see the vet for some antibiotics or have her checked for an allergy. My boxer used to get bumps on his chin from digging in the dirt-he was allergic to the dirt.

Your dog may have Canine Papillomas. A vet needs to see her and diagnosis the bumps to determine treatment. Papillomas normally go away on their own, but sometimes will persist throughout their lives. There is also a very slim chance of them turning into cancer. VERY slim!

it could be bacterial sores. i work for a vet and my dog had this problem and was diagnosed with bacterial sores. she may need antibiotics and special shampoo, (i use Universal Shampoo, by Vet Solutions). you just bathe them in this, leave it on them for 15 minutes and then rinse. you do this about twice a week, along with the antibiotics this clears it up hope this helps
