how long will it take to mail a package from austin texas to winsted conneticut if i just put it in the mail box and adress it and stamp it normally.

If you put the correct amount of postage on it it should be around three to four days for delivery. If you dont put the correct amount of postage it will be returned to you for more postage.

I would not just put it in the mailbox. You also did not include the size of the package. To be on the safe side and to make sure you have the adequate postage and markings on the package, I would take it to the post office. There they can tell you the exact price for priority mailing, parcel post mailing, if it is light enough for first class mailing and/or if it qualifies for media mailing. Without the proper postage, you will run the risk of it being returned to you or that your person in Connecticut will have to go to the post office to pay for insufficient postage.
