My little 9-year-old brother and I were in the car, just kind of joking around with each other..we didn't get in a fight or anything, but 10 minutes later, he started drawing pictures of my getting eaten by sharks, burning in a fire..just generally pictures of my dying. Then he threatened to stab me with a knife.
I didn't do anything at all to him..and we usually get along. I don't get what's going on with him!! He's been doing that a lot lately. I'm really trying to support him with school and help him out with his problems if he's willing to tell me about some of them, but he just seems to be really weird this past week. Any ideas? Could it be a bully at school or a girl, or what? How can I talk to him about this?
I know very well he would never want to talk to my mom or dad about anything, and I'm the only one he can trust, so I have to talk to him. I just don't know how, I've tried anything and everything possible! Have any advice?!

you sound like a caring sister
ask him why he draws them
tell you parents of his behavior
a therpist may need to be seen.
and also you must consider he is nine and he may see things of people being eaten by sharks and things of that sort and be influenced by them

I like the answer that says he's bipolar. That makes a lot of sense. Kid draws gory pictures? He's bipolar. Kid cries a lot? He's bipolar. Kid doesn't eat their veggies? Got to be bipolar.

I really don't know what advice to give. Your bro is obviously going through some hard times. Maybe see if there is an adult he trusts, and encourage him to talk to them. Best of luck.

as the older sister used to being there to help him and care for him you are the one he can be mad at and know you will still love him no matter what he says or does you should feel lucky he thinks so highly of you

you should bake some cookies for him sit down with him and the cookies and tell him
if there is ever anything you need to talk about or if someone is bothering you at all i will help you though it and be there for you

Talk to your parents. Tell them all the things that he has said.Show them the pictures. If it makes you nervous or scared, tell them that. Let them think about what is going on with your brother. If they don't pay attention to you, talk to a school counselor about it.

It could be a bully at school or maybe just your trying to hang out with him alot and maybe he don't like it. He might want space from you since you guys are brother and sister and maybe he just needs some space from you and try to figure out his business by himself.

Your brother is having mental problems. You need to tell your parents together also you should talk to the counselor at school. Do it immediately before he really does something to you. You can't help him. He needs professional help.
