Personal experience. After an accident and staring the windshield of my car with my head I was walking around and felt fine. My forehead was raspberried and it took some hair out but I wasn't bleeding. I refused the ambulance. 2 hours later after the adrenaline(shock) had wore off I was in the emergency room with bad neck and head pains. I was hurt and just didn't know it or feel it at the time.

Okay, say for instance a person was in a car accident, that is the trauma, and then your body goes into shock. First make sure there is no danger for you, survey the scene. Call 911 You want to see if the person is awake so you will ask him/her if she is okay. The body will start to shake. Put a blanket on them. It is important not to move the victim, as this could cause permanent damage to the spine. So if they are still in the car, wrap them in a blanket, get in the back seat and hold their neck and head still until help arrives, they can secure a collar. Keep talking to the victim in case there is a concussion you don't want them to fall asleep.

Trauma Shock is the body's reaction to trauma. There are a few different types of shock.
1.) Hypovolemic Shock is due to a loss of body fluids like blood.
2.)Hemorrhagic Shock results from blood loss.
3.)Cardiogenic Shock shock from a loss of perfusion not by blood loss but by the lack of pumping of the heart.
4.)Neurogenic Shock is hypoperfusion due to nerve paralysis.
5.)Compensated Shock is when the paitent is developing shock but the body is still able to maintain perfusion.
6.)Compensate Shock is when the body can not compensate for low blood volume.
7.)Irreversible Shock is when the body has lost the battle against shock.
First aid is to keep the patient warm and elevate extremities to increase blood flow to the heart.

trauma shock is just what it is... shock after experiencing a traumatic event such as a car crash, gunshot wound etc. No symptoms. One just blankly stares, is unresponsive to stimulus, stutters or simply remains quiet. When a patient is in shock, be it trauma or otherwise, keep him /her calm. Do not leave him/her alone until help arrives. My source? I deal with it everyday in the hospital. Google webMD if you like.

Go with Tim on this one. Also, a reminder to people, DO NOT move someone that is injured! Call 911! People think they need to run up to an accident scene and pull people from the cars. WRONG! Unless that car is on fire, or in danger of it(Leaking Fuel), then don't move them!

trauma shock is caused by something unexpected. A car accident or news of a death, etc. If there is someone in it, wrap them in a blanket, try to get them to drink a glass of water. Most definately get them to a doctor as soon as possible. No sources.
