I get this message MOV is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker. Is there anyway FREE way I can change it to something usable by that program? Thanks for the help!

If you get quick time for the PC from apple.com, you can buy a liscense for $29 to unlock the "quicktime pro" features. THis lets you export from inside of quicktime to any of a dozen formats. You should then be able to export to AVI some other format that could be opened by MS Movie Maker

you can find the software "stoik" its a video converter and its a freeware so you can use it for free. search for other .mov converter too...
