I am having chest pain that has moved from one side to the other. I am going to explain exactly to the best of my ability . I am 24 years of age, and I am a smoker ontop of everything. I was sitting in my chair and leaned back in it cause I have terrible posture, and I started to feel a chest pain come about. I sat up cause I was trying to get rid of it and when I sat up it felt as if someone had stabbed me. I am now kinda dizzy headed, but I dont know if it is because I am about to have a panick attack or if this is something to really worry about. I am going to go with whatever you ppl tell me so come up with some kind of advice. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it hurts more while breathing, you need to get it checked out ASAP. Otherwise, it probably wouldn't hurt to make an appt for a physical and have some annual bloodwork done. Mention it to the doc as well. Your young, but I have also seen guys not much older than you having bypass surgery,

dizziness and chest pain can be caused by a lot of different things. If you have discomfort in your chest for more than 5 minutes, or it goes away and comes back it could be serious and you might want to go to the ER. I suspect you suffer from occasional panic attacks, since you mentioned that possibility, and those symptoms can be caused by panic/anxiety. a brief stabbing pain could also be a PVC, which stands for premature ventricular contraction. It's when the heart does an extra beat, then pauses and does a really strong beat that can actually feel like a stab sometimes. A lot of people get them, and they are considered normal.

You need to get to the doctor as soon as possible. It might be muscle spasms but then again you could have a blockage of some sort. Don't waste time, for your own sake. Your life might depend upon it.

CALL 911 NOW! Don't wait, don't guess, don't sit and figure "oh it'll go away". I did that once and guess what..I was in serious serious danger. Don't feel embarassed or silly for calling or going to the hospital. Never guess with your health. GO NOW! And please let us know some how, how you are doing.

Call 911 immediately. This is considered an emergency! It could be minor however if it is not you will regret not seeking medical care.
