yes, i have had these. As you said i mostly get the mini ones but once in a while i will have the horrible ones (well i guess they all suck). Lexapro has helped alot in reducing the frequency. Ask your doctor if any meds might help you.

I suffer from panic attacks, too. You seem to do what I used to do when I first starting having them, your anxiety attacks cause futher anxiety. Leave the building or run to the restroom and catch your breath. As long as you can remind yourself that it is just a panic attack and it will pass, you can get over them.
Of course, if you want an easier solution there are multiple medications on the market that can help. Unfortunately, some of the most effective are habit forming.
Not that I condone this in anyway, but marijuana also can help from having panic attacks.
Choose the method that is best for you.

Yes. I did. It occured about 1 and1/2 hrs.from home. It was outside an eatery and although I have experienced them before, this one was kinda` the worst one. First, I thought I was having a heart attack, then I started to sweat a cold sweat all over my body, and then I felt very nauseaus and completely numb. I had to lay down in the car for the whole drive home.It was very exhausting! Only once during these have I hyperventilated.Mini ones are also scary..but I have learned to talk myself out of them sometimes. I just take a deep breath and convince myself that those around me have no idea what I`m going thru. I keep tellin` myself to keep it real. Sometimes this helps. If yours are out of control your dr. may be able to prescribe some relief. Good luck.

I had one just last November.
It was this debate thing for school, and I was under a lot of stress and pressure. In that same week, I had 2 auditions and a concert, plus, my cousin passed away just a few days before the debate, and I just couldn't take it.
The entire debate, I was just shaking. The other team asked me a question I didn't know, and I didn't know what to do, but luckily my crush jumped right in. I was really embarrassed and guilty afterwards because I not only made a dumbass out of myself, but for the entire team.
After the debate, I started having this regular conversation with a friend in my next class (which was a study) and I just cracked. My mind was racing and everything just started to build up.
The only good thing about it was that my crush checked up on me to see if I was okay. But still, I just hope something like that never happens again.

Hi Aaron,
Have you ever heard of Jay Mohr? He was a comedian on Sat night live, and has been in so many movies and was the host of last comic standing.
In his book he talks about his first panic attack. He says that his first one he had to leave immediately from the place he was, heart was beating through his chest and thought he was "going to die" and ran like 5 miles (in work clothes)back to his apartment in New York. We was litterlay running scared. I think panic attacks like this are common for all who experince panic attacks. Read his book if you wish. The Doc prescribed him klonopin.

oh yes...this brings back so many memories...mine started slowly over the course of a couple of weeks and culminated in a 24 hour a day panic attack...I woke with it and went to sleep w/it...this was back in 1982, and while doctors knew about it, they really didnt know how to treat it....get to your doctor..do it asap..and get some meds that will help you avert the anxiety...especially the full blown panic attacks..the sooner you treat it, the faster it will go away...it also helps to talk about it...I had one on one therapy for a year and a half that did not do ****...I finally started getting better when I found someone else who was having the same problem..just different reasons why..we helped each other through the tough times and encouraged each other..just when we thought we were incapable...we both ended up "cured"..neither one of us stayed on meds too long..neither one of us needed therapy long...we would call as the symptoms abated once in a while to check in on one another...you can get over this...but get some help and some desensitizing therapy...good luck!!!

oh yeah sure have. used to happen when i was younger. i've always had "anxiety" we've figured since i was little. i didn't get panic attacks till horrible things happened in my life. such as one of my grandfather's dying. that event really set me off. after being in psychology class though I believe my problem starts within the endocrine system because both my parents have had problems with theirs. my mother has a pituitary tumor and had a thyroid tumor taken out and my father had his adrenal glands taken out. so i'm guessing with me it starts with the endocrine system and my body becomes overwhelmed with the chemicals that are released from the basic anxiety response. do some research on it. i plan on doing research. it might not be true anxiety. good luck.
